I was making a new warlock and got through the 4th mission or so. I was level 4 with my friends who are all high level like my main. I decided to test Iron Banner because last night I really didn't see much of a difference playing with my lvl 30, it felt like regular crucible. So I joined up with my friends to play some Iron Banner. I was expecting to walk in and get one shotted with an ankle shot, instead I was baffled at what happened. Watch the video, and let me know what you think.
Edit- Here is my second video as well, this was my third game and did even better than my first. http://youtu.be/h2rUdKnB_4M Check it out and let me know what you think! Also thanks Deej for replying at least, I was not expecting that. Although you did leave us with your usual vague wait till the update answer. Please don't just address it, please actually fix it!
A big shout out to my fireteam, thanks for helping me make this video ClearVue, AssasiNinja187x, ojndeath1, DukeNukem786, and xxKunntryxx

Their "new" can content is just recycled. Oh ok, maybe the player cards are new. Great...
-
I'm glad more people are posting about this. IDK how Bungie are going to come up with an excuse for it either. The only thing I can imagine that could have happened was someone accidentally swapped some lines of code around before they uploaded it or the testers were off that day so Bungie said, "-blam!- it! Post it now and we'll fix it later!"
-
In PvE even at level 28 you will get messed up by a level 11 Vandal if he has a clear shot (not sniping you)... You obviously have some skill with the game as your aiming is near perfect and your control of the objective is solid. I also don't like the idea that "I thought I would come in here are destroy everyone with my high level gear"... in that one sentance you summed up why I don't want to play Iron Banner. Its a proper dick swinging competition, and being killed over and over again by someone who simply has a better gun or armour isn't entertaining.
-
Seriously why bother bringing this content out if it doesn't work nor do what it is intended for. Bungie has let themselves and all their fans down once again. This isn't the first time either, are they honestly that dumb? I noticed level and gear advantages didn't effect the game-play in the very first game I played.
-
Yeah I see your problem I felt the same way no difference at all.
-
lol bungie has done nothing but screw up destiny since day 1. destiny is all lies so far. its bern sometime they have not fixed anything.
-
Please don't just address it, please actually fix it!
Oh and by the time they fix it, the event will be over. lol :)

Edited by shade1364: 10/9/2014 4:00:50 AMOr the first auto rifle is hiddenly OP XD.
-
I don't know if anyone's played runescape, but I'm picturing the Iron banner as a level 30 with full Mithril and an addy scimitar owning a level 120 in full torva and chaotic rapier lmao

Edited by BountyHunter1: 10/9/2014 7:05:33 AMSo I was a level 26 hunter that constantly got first place in the crucible in clash and control. But then I entered the iron banner and got 4th and last a few times till I got used to it. Even then I found myself trying waaay harder to place then i ever did in the crucible. For me I could def tell the difference. At least at level 26 going against higher level players

Oh my god Bungie stop f*cking us around and make sh*t legit! Anyway nice find man.

Edited by Acier: 10/9/2014 3:13:13 AMNot much to be said, though I thought I saw that you are a lvl 5 sunsinger? In any case Bungie does this strictly because there IS a large player base that will cry...a lot if they can't play because they are under geared/leveled. This is usually an excuse being made by someone who claims they haven't got enough time to play so they can't be good. Anyway long story short bungie is trying to cater to all audiences, and not many of us that are leveled/geared appreciate that, but we can't do anything. I just choose to do the daily iron banner then get the hell out and go do something more productive, its just crucible with a title.

This game is like one nonestop case of Murphy's law, I want off this wild ride I mean goodness, they managed to find a way to screw -this- up too, lol really
-
Woooow bungie. I'm not even mad anymore.
-
There are a bunch of people talking about how his team mates are around him and helping him blah blah blah. His level 1 AR does more damage than my fully upgraded Hard Light. Please explain that one to me.
-
Maybe they were shi tty
-
I do not really understand people's issue, did you really expect to be able to go into a game and take bullets like lv28s do in PvE. Any PvP is about the skill of the player, not just the hitpoints you can deal out and/or absorb. I went into IB for the first time last night, and it was exactly as I expected, subtle differences, enough to encourage everyone to play. COD is the most played console FPS online shooter and has much worse issues than the ones you are explaining. Personally, I think the PvP is a breath of fresh air vs other FPS's.

The fact im sitting here REGRETTING i dismantled that level 1 auto rifle on my level 10 warlock after seeing how god damn badly it shreds in the iron banner against these lvl 30s is wrong in itself.
-
I've noted this for a bit. Gear was designed to be "balanced" in the game, but it seems to be ever so greatly watered down at higher qualities to make sure it's not supposed to be overpowering. Then we have things like the IB here where it's supposed to be all about the overpowered gear. To a large degree it seems that Bungie is suffering from the same problem as the Gearbox guys when it comes to the concepts of high quality gear. They seem to think that they need to dumb it down to the point of being near pointless to have it. Case in point... what's the real difference between the unique hand cannons and any of the purple ones that you can buy/find? Maybe a couple of different perks and a fancy display model right?
-
Yeah it doesnt feel too different to Crucible - although headshoting lower level players (around 10 and bellow) were dropping really quickly I noticed. Also I noticed Titans take a bit longer to drop. There is clearly a difference between Crucible and Iron Banner - but that difference could definitely be broadened.
-
Yeah there is no difference and the selection of the rewards are always little and lame.nothing kool worth getting another pointless event.this game is just becoming flat out boring I'm just gonna pick up the new borderlands and have more fun and content on that!
-
The Iron Boner of Bungie strikes again
-
How disappointing.. Lie after lie from bungie lately..
-
I bet Bungie doesn't have time to explain why they don't have time to explain why this event is just another joke among a long list of jokes that is Destiny. This is the last straw for me. Five years to make this game, and yet they didn't even seem to do the most basic of testing. Iron Banner was marketed as a hard core game type that revolved around high level GEAR. That was supposed to be one of the main reasons to grind out the best loot possible. But of course it doesn't even work properly with level 4's easily killing maxed out characters. Enough is enough, I'm done with this phucking game.
-
Your title "absolute proof" is very misleading. If you managed to show footage from both yourself and an opponent, showing damage over time, comparable levels and gear, that would be really helpful. This is just you having good games while shooting people. It seems that you damage people more slowly that I do :)

Killing a lvl 28 player should be as impossible as trying to kill a 26 Minotaur when ur a lvl 4.
