I'll be addressing this in the Weekly Update.
Preview: Power Matters, but so does skill.

That's what I'm saying! I went to the archon priest solo, and almost killed him then my friends got on and we went back in and it was like 15x harder, then we did that mission on the vanguard tiger and no one dies
-
I noticed the same thing the other day. Archon Priest strike was unbelievably difficult with 3 people. I was laughing because it was ridiculous how many times we were wiping. It felt like a level 30 strike or something. Took almost 2 hrs to kill him.
-
There is a known issue that causes bosses to do more damage and take less damage from more guardians. It's a known issue..... That they haven't bothered to patch yet since they announced it 2-3 weeks ago.
-
Ok good to know. Tried again last night and we wiped about 15 times before we finally killed him. I was getting one shotted by the boss constantly.
-
Also if you're even one level below the strike level you might as well be wearing paper for armor and throwing rocks for weapons.
-
Good to know, cuz I was getting pretty angry last night when my unfriendly giant with 5 direct hits did no noticeable damage. So now, I wait. I'm coming for you Arkon

You need teamwork, you need one person always doing damage to the priest and the other two clearing the various other hostiles. Without teamwork and communication you will continually just die.

This is the first time I have ever gotten mad at game because of the constant -blam!- ups and lies by the people who made it. And yes I have played Fable 3. I'm embarrassed for you DeeJ. You look incredibly stupid right now. Remember when the GTA V servers were not working the first couple of weeks? Rockstar admitted they -blam!-ed up and compensated everyone for the inconvenience too.
-
Typical DeeJ reply. Equal parts a lie, pompous sounding, and entirely empty.

Power matters in regular crucible too. Even though damage and armor is normalized (albeit not that much different from iron banner), weapon and armor attributes make all the difference. For example: Player 1 has luck in the chamber for his hand cannon Player 2 has an identical gun but does not have a weapon mod. Both players land headshots but player 1 wins bc of gear bonuses. This scenario happens in both crucible and iron banner. Unless the stats make a SIGNIFICANT difference, which they don't atm, then a player has no reason to play iron banner over crucible unless they really want ib gear. I play iron banner bc players are generally better in this playlist, not for my insane warlock glove reward. Hope that bungie considers a slight bump in how stats make a difference. Cheers
-
But a level 4 with starting weapons vs a 29 with maxed out exotics and purps? I have both so I can see there's little to no difference.
-
I leveled a hunter at high speed to use my thorn to it's full potential in this and it feels no different to normal crucible..........WHAT THE -blam!-.
-
While you're here plz fix titan catapult. Thx

Wow another back tracking crock of bull for the weekly update. "Bring your toughest gear, your strongest weapons, you're going to need them." Remember this? So if I'm skilled enough I can take down Aetheon with the starter auto rifle? Tired of the excuses. Iron Banner was supposed to be power above all, not the crucible with a new name and one game mode.

Lol, love that line of thinking. "Just stop playing, derpy derp derp". Don't hold them accountable or point out the flaws in hopes it gets better, just leave. Guess what happens then, oh genius wonder of all fanboys? If everyone who is unsatisfied leaves and never comes back, 1) you are going to immediately lose 30-50% of the player base and 2) there won't be enough profit to keep Activision happy. If Activision pulls it's support the game and Bungie both go down.

-
Wow....... Ok, let's try this again, if Bungie goes down there won't be a next time.
Wow....... Ok, let's try this again, if Bungie goes down there won't be a next time.
I think they will survive one game fail dude and anyways if they do get that far and everyone gives up on this because they think it's a load of crap they don't deserve another try

The amount of time, money and reputation put into Destiny almost guarantees that Bungie will be gone if it fails. I would draw no pleasure from that, I want the game to succeed. I want the Destiny we were told about. I want to throw my cash at an amazing series. As it stands right now, however, Destiny is not that series. It's fun, for now, but there is nothing to hold me here. When Unity and Dragon Age release I'll be gone until the dlc drops (since I bought the expansion pass anyway).
So if I'm skilled enough I can take down Aetheon with the starter auto rifle?
Yes, if you were skilled (and patient) enough, you could probably kill him with the Khvostov. I don't recommend it.
-
No you can't, it would just say immune, like any other enemy that's that far above you.

You would still be doing damage, just really low damage compared to his health bar. That's why patience is also needed.
