I pre-ordered Destiny and while I'm used to playing MMOs - be it PC or console, you usually get to choose a screenname.
I loaded up the character creation and before I knew it I was already ingame. I didn't think much of it at first until I reached the tower and saw my name which of course is my PSN name which is... My girlfriends real name.
I wasn't too concerned about it, mostly because I didn't even know if I would be playing this game or well, keep playing it.
Anyway, I now have around 40 hours into that guy and actually having fun doing Crucible UNTIL...
Randoms started harassing and stalking my gf on Facebook because "She must be this awesome female gamer that actually plays a guy character and is actually quite good looking too." These guys their wet dream is ruining my shit and her life at the moment.
Please note she is a public figure and she needs to be able to be found. Privacy settings on her end are no solution.
Also, the reason her name was used in the first place, is because we were filling in billing info etc to start downloading stuff from the PSN store.
I am new to multiplayer on console and never figured that w/e name was used back then would be used on games like these.
Obviously I haven't touched that account or brought it online anymore.
Playstation customer service is a joke.
And I'm afraid I might be too privileged if I were to get some help here or wouldn't I?
I don't care about trophies or my friend list or whatever. I'm just a casual player and 30 hours in my life are costly. This happening now, combined with the connection problems I was still experiencing every 20 mins - It would be swell to get some motivation to carry on.

if your on playstation i think you can go into the settings and find the section that lets you show your real name to people through name requests. i believe there's an option to allow anyone to see this name with or without a name request. change that name to something else and allow it to be seen by everyone. i could be wrong but its worth a shot.
