There was a time when I thought that working for Bungie would be one of the coolest jobs in the world. I dreamt of working on designing games and stories or cloaking new stuff in a mysterious shroud that would spark debate across the world. DeeJ was the person I had the most exposure to, of course, and I always thought it would be fun to have his job.
Now I'm not so sure.
If there's one thing Guardians have proved, it's that they're good at whining. I used to love coming to these forums and hearing people talk about the game. I used to love reading people's theories and comments on things that happened to them in the game. Now the forums aren't fun at all.
Now listen, I'm not much of a romantic, and I'm not saying this game is flawless. It has some problems. It's even got some BIG problems, but you know what? I've had a blast playing it, and I've wasted almost 4 days of my life doing so. Personally, I can't say that about any other game I've ever played. In terms of quantity, I've had more fun playing this game than I've had with many others combined. I am sure there are many Guardians who feel the same, but it's become the cool thing to complain endlessly on the forums in tasteless, petty ways.
"-blam- you DeeJ!"
"This game sucks."
"Bungie needs to fix their shit."
I think there needs to be two sections on these forums: one for positivity and one for bitching. One for people who like playing games and one for pessimistic fun-suckers. And I'm not saying that the complaints would all go into the latter either. Although most of my generation will never grasp this, there is such a thing as constructive criticism. There is such a thing as satire. There is such a thing as tact.
And you know what? There's also such a thing as optimism. Life sucks sometimes, you guys. There's all kind of crap we deal with everyday personally and as a world, but when people turn on their console or jump into the Companion they're trying to escape from that for a moment. They're trying to forget about arguments, politics, and whatever else is going wrong in the world. Unfortunately, it seems Destiny has become a microcosm of those issues. The negativity has created a place where only negativity thrives, and those people feed off each other in and endless cycle.
It's not gonna ruin my experience; I've resolved on that, but it's possible it could ruin the experience of others. So when you get angry at something and rage quit, think about what you're saying before you post it, and then hashtag that mother with #bitching.
If you want to complain endlessly about things that piss you off then call your congressman.

Kudos to you. Glad someone feels the same.

One word: Shinkuutatsuumakkisempuukyakku! Awesome post. You have my thumbs. Also, if I may, this.

You should incorporate this into one of your world famous Tower reports, like a growing number of childish, whiny Guardians who're annoying everyone else.

People are passionate. The game is not what was intended. Our expectations were high and we got let down. So quityourbitchin' about people voicing your opinion. I found it ironic you bitched for an entire page about bitching.
