No particular order than number 1
1). Final Fantasy VII
I seriously hope they release a PSN version for PS4. I'd pay pretty much whatever they wanted me to for this game. The top game ever made in my opinion for a number of reasons.
Final Fantasy VIII
Mass Effect series (probably my 2nd favorites after FF7)
Halo CE
Halo 3
Dragon Age: Origins
KOTOR
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Skyrim. I thought Oblivion had a better campaign but the system in Skyrim was superior. If the graphics had been equal, Cyrodil (or whatever the oblivion area was called) would've been cooler than Skyrim environment-wise
Metal Gear Solid
Fallout 3/New Vegas
Honorable Mentions
Twisted Metal. Splitscreen as a kid in this game was awesome!
That's all I can think of for the moment. Might update later. Destiny, while fun, is no where near cracking into this list.

Edited by Sgt Cabose: 10/10/2014 4:23:33 AMOMG you grabbed almost all my favorites. Mass Effect 1-3 Super Metroid and Fusion FF8 and 6 (3 on SNES) Skyrim Devil May Cry series God of War 1-3 Gears of War 1-3 Dragon Age origins and awakening (edited). GTA 3 and up. Transformers FoC That's to name a few. Most of those games are heavy on story and writing. I enjoy the depth of a good story. I'll gladly add Destiny once the story gets there.

Yeah man I should have added Mass Effect ( still can't get the reaper conversation from my head, add Leviathan to that) FF6 rocked but I didn't play it till the disk release on PS1 And God of War was up there with DMC and NG, also memorable because it had tits in one of the FMVs

Who can forget the talk with Sovereign?! That's one of the best scenes ever, and then the fight with one in 3 where you approach and talk to it after. Some of the best game sequences ever written. Period. And replayability is there. You can try all of the other conversation options the second time through with a totally different class and play style. Unbelievable how much they packed into each game. I actually enjoyed their multiplayer too. I had fun unlocking and leveling all the different characters. Kinda grindy like this, but still good fun with a good team.

Dragon age one was origins, right? DA2 sucked balls I thought. Please tell me FF7 is on your list. And yeah I'm pretty driven by stories in the games I play too. Destiny's problem is its shitty story and horrible grimoire system. So -blam!-ing dumb. I don't have a ton of faith for the to fix it in this iteration but we'll see how they do on sequels. I haven't given up hope on them yet. In the meantime, I'm pretty pumped for Dragon Age Inquisition and The Witcher 3

Correct on Dragon Age. I meant awakenings. The DLC expansion was really good. DA2 was hot garbage.

See, what the OP has done is forced us into a state of torture where we have to choose our 10 top games. It's not even possible, there's been too many great games over the past 20 odd years

Truth. I guess you could say I got started on the NES when I was like 4, but I really got going on Sega Genesis. I played outside a shit ton as a kid during most of the year. During the summer where I grew up at though had horrible air pollution due to farmers burning their wheat fields. I had asthma pretty bad then, so my mom would let me play games all day just to stop me from going outside. From there it just kept going and hasn't stopped. I don't play too much now, pretty much just on the weekends, but I'm 29. Now games stop me from going out at night and drinking way too heavily lol
-
Ah I like the odd bottle of wine when I game on the weekends, stopped going out when my teen years were over lol Yeah I had a Genesis too, never had a Nintendo like all the other lucky kids. I believe it was called the Sega Mega Drive here in the UK though The first console I had though was the Sega Master System, I don't hear to much of that console though.

Now that I think of it, SNES's Zelda: Ocarina of Time (I think that was the name) was supposed to be pretty good. That's probably the only SNES game I wish I'd gotten to play
-
I think that one was on the the N64, the one your thinking of was A Link to the Past, I think lol The one on N64 was good but I didn't play it till much later on the GameCube ( Cus it was free with Windwaker)
-
Quite possibly. I just know people still love Ocarina of Time and wish I'd gotten to play it.
