"You promised" a revolution of gaming that would take me on a 10 year adventure winning back the galaxy from a tiny shielded city protected for generations by the travelers graceful light.
"I imagined" us inside a bubble over generations evolving to wield the light. With the light we became effective, like the traveler was and begin overwhelming the forces on earth. Taking back earth with our new skills I imagined a dramatic ending to the darkness's free run of earth. With our new found mastery of light we combine it with machine tech to shield the whole earth. Patrol missions and online team battles mop up the planet enemies freeing humanity on earth.... we prosper. I honestly expected this to be about 40 hours. and maybe to include the moon while we are acquiring new equipment for.... the next wave ..... ....
"The abilities and team game play" OK, you guys need to pick up a copy of Battlefield, seriously don't be offended but get it, get good as a team and do it that way. This was the biggest failure and the reason why just a few days after buying destiny, I am back to battlefield just to feel the army advancing.... Abilities that effect the whole team? Everyone should have them. I would love to have a guy who can bunker up 3 or 4 shields waist height and another guy with a tripod. C4 would be great. Med packs so everyone heals faster? How about group invisibility from a sensor spy type of guy? imagine that after another guy built a bunker? Maybe a sensor guy that adds the terrain to you map? land mines? This is the greatest game play you can ever get really. Now one other great thing I thought didn't even need mentioning but apparently... it does. Assassinations.... we need funny, beautiful heart throbbing assassinations that thrill us. Even Battlefield's simple knife is more satisfying that what you gave us. Reaches assassinations gave us 100's, yes, 100's of hours of comical fun and you know what I do when something is funny, I smile. That's how you know people like you, yah know, they smile.... (remember the funny little guys from halo 1) That broke the never ending boredom of predictability, it filled me with love, you saw in in my smile as I LMAO!
"Push back the darkness" The moon has little gravity, some planets are hot, others are cold.... seems like a great excuse for Armour upgrades and hey.... we evolved under the light, its been generations, why not some evolution from them, fire creatures, ice creatures etc.... Maybe start this with them striking back and attacking the moon? Why only light Armour level 25? why not ice Armour that is blue level 25? Fire Armour red etc...? use fire on ice planets... Shields for our ships now because, well we have to or be pushed aside like we were ages ago when just the traveler could wield the light.
I don't know what you were thinking but forcing people to play repetitive levels killing bullet sponges? It's crap... but it is the only way to build up gear so people do it. Why not go get a copy of battlefield and make it awesome like that so people will do it for the thrill of quality online group cooperative play? The trill for a super awesome assassination! I feel ripped off, like forced to do something annoying for hours on end just to do the next fun thing!
I am so disappointed guys but you know what, for the right price, I will come work with you full time and you will deliver what you actually promised...
Besides, battlefield's Hardline is coming out... it looks like they are doing what you promised. All my buddies and all their buddies they know are going.... what are you gunna do then?
See yah.

I'm with Dylanadad. This game was hyped with false advertising, I paid my hard earned $$ for what is basically half a game - with part of that half having to log onto bungie.net to read the grimoire then google what it actually means, only to find out it doesn't mean anything - it's just an afterthought because the story is so horrendously broken. If I buy something from a shop and am unhappy due to the box/advertising lying about the product, I generally get a refund - but not with console/computer games - once it's open it's un-returnable. The best I can hope for is maybe selling it second-hand for half the cost (as long as it's not bought digitally). And that's all thanks to companies punishing their legal cash paying fans for the small problem of pirates out there (which is also over-hyped when, for example, Destiny made back it's 500million in one day).
