I read this book once in school, Tuck Everlasting. It's completely useless to be immortal, and eventually, I'm sure it gets boring, but it wouldn't be as bad as an afterlife.

Because even is you threw $10,000 in the bank, a thousand years from now it will still be worth roughly the same with inflation. Plus bank fees will take away from that, and you have to explain to the bank every 50 years why you're not dead yet.
