I think the other warminds are still alive. I saw someone on the forums post that the 9 who xur works for may be warminds who survived as well. Which if they are trying to beat the darkness makes sense that they are giving the best gear to guardians since they need is to help them beat the darkness and other alien races

Am I wrong in remembering an A.I station on mars that the ghost says housed the A.I of the Warmind for mars.

And Rasputin is one of them. And when we opened the array station up and out ghost says he is connecting to something but he didn't know what and speculated it may help us beat the darkness. Perhaps he was connecting to the other warminds
