Has Bungie lost its mojo?

When bungie stopped making halo I was sorta sad to see 343 take over. Halo 4 wasnt bad by any means but I kept thinking in my head that it could have been better if bungie made it. I had my hopes up for destiny with high expectations, but I cant beleive this is all the content $500,000,000 buys. Then it hit me that im actually glad bungie isnt making halo anymore after seeing what they have done with destiny. I never imagined I would feel this way.

  • I don't think Bungie has lost its mojo, Microsoft had a very strict contract to hold over Bungie with the Halo series. Once the contract was terminated, I feel like Bungie had built a great name and had marketability for any game that they wanted to release. The developers have always added quirks to their games, and I think they did a great job with Destiny. PLUS the Playstation specific content is a huge "Screw you" to Microsoft on a business level, which is really humorous to me.

    • They've lost some key people. Destiny is proof that they're flailing around a bit right now. The question is whether or not they can get back on course any time soon.

I remember long hours spent with my BFF playing the co-op mode on halo and increasing the difficulty each time until we beat it on the hardest difficulty. I still remember a bunch of parts in that game, I still remember meeting the flood for the first time. I remember driving around with my friend and alone, just looking around the terrain and even made little mini games and stories of our own. I remember trying to beat the game alone on the hardest difficulty. I never did play any other halo games except a very short amount of time spent with halo 2. But destiny. Oh where do I begin there. Destiny initially captivates all of us with its fantastic graphics, solid and sharp combat and seeing others running around in this world as a guardian of humanity fighting just like you. But once you leave earth, it goes downhill from there slowly and surely until the end. Bungie, where is any semblance of what I experienced in halo so long ago? Almost every mission is completely lacklustre and devoid of any variation as well. The story is hardly capable of following even if you exclude any side stories from the side missions. In fact, I don't even think you have any idea what the main story is until you follow the stranger to Venus, half way through the game. Half Way Through. And sadly, you never see more than 6 guardians in any of the designated "shared zones" on each planet/moon. I was expecting more than that and on larger maps.
