So they give us a expansion pass advertisement ON THE DAY OF RELEASE. They expect us to become addicted and fork out all our money to continue their story.
Do we (YOU) think we should have to pay for future content? Even if story related?
IMO we haven't nearly been given enough content or STORY with our first payment buying the game to begin with.
Not everyone is rich Bungie, your game will die if you start taking the piss.
Why should we have to pay for added content and information to find out more about the story when this game has BARELY to begin with, its actually disgusting..

It's hard to say without knowing exactly what the dlc contains. I know theres more planets, strikes, raids etc but how many hours of game play? As it is Destiny isn't managing to keep everyone entertained until the DLC. I think they've put a lot of thought into it so hopefully it will be worth the money. As long as my money is used to continually improve the game as promised I'm happy.
-
60$ for 100+ hours that I've been playing, yeah I got my money's worth. If you think 60$ is too much or you didn't get enough you don't know the value of a dollar. Your 60$ doesn't even pay for the wage of a Bungie employee for a single day. And you want them to give you everything you want because you payed 60$? Spoiled feelings of entitlement aren't going to get you anywhere. We (YOU) deserve to pay for future content as long as they (BUNGIE) continuously developed it. You've never been to a movie theater and spent near 50$ for a two hour movie you won't care about anymore in less than a week but you won't pay 60$ for a video game you can keep playing and interact with other people in? Priorities...
-
This game is ALWAYS online! We don't have to pay a monthly fee to play so they can keep their servers fresh and so forth. They need to generate this money from future content. Yes the game did lack (to my expectations) story mode and some other things.. Truth is that people are complaining about the little extra costs of dlc.. Its 40 euro's here in the Netherlands. Thats around 50$ - 55$. I don't think thats a substancial amount of money for what we're getting tho. If you consider that we don't pay monthly to keep this game running we're barely even paying for the upcommin dlc. Thats just my 5cents tho
-
I have had the same issue and even have a petition requesting a free storey fix DLC for everyone with over 2thousand signs. However Bungie won't take notice, they sold as half a game and are now laughing into there giant bank accounts.

Maybe I'm old but I remember when you bought a game and had a complete storyline. Destiny was released to early there needs to be more depth to this story. Grimmor cards is a joke I remember games that would unlock enemy information when you defeated them however, if you paid even a little bit of attention you already understood the story line. I'm disappointed in the lack of story. I was able to complete everything this game has to offer in under 55 hours. I miss the days of 4 cds included in a game with 100s of hours of game play.
-
I don't think we should have to spend another penny on this game
-
I agree with you. The story took 15 hours to complete. There is not much left except online play which is not story simply a different call of duty online experience. The game as they have said is not a true mmo. While I love the game I'd like more story. More reason to care to make my guardian continue his quest to drive out the darkness. They claim there will be no subscription fee yet to play the crucible and most of the game you must pay for the ps+ or the xbox equivalent. Now ontop of that we have 2 expansion packs we are having to pay for. Sorry if to me this already feels like a subscription fee. So far the game has my attention and what feels like diss appointing changes, fees and mid steps. It won't take much bit they could toss us a bone to keep us interested. 3.7 million users as 100$ is a lot of money. Time we see something given to us as part of our investment instead of being asked for more money.

I'm fine with paying for major content expansions but at a fair price: $34.99 (£21.69) in USA but £34.99 ($56.45) in UK - that is a complete rip-off There's just not enough maps, game variables within the Crucible which is often the mainstay once players have completed the objectives. Bungie should go back and look at the mechanics of games like UT99 / 2004, Quake3 etc etc (or even your own Myth series!!), if they don't have the time for map creations then just supply a map editor and let the gamers do that side of the content. After all the various issues with downtime either from Bungie or PSN there needs to be either offline content or the ability to play online without requiring PSN to be active. I appreciate why there's not too much of a story going on, Destiny isn't a movie rather episodes 1 and 2 of a TV series and like most series the story develops over time and allowed to change direction
-
Im absolutly fine paying for it. Bungie dont listen to these children without jobs lol.
-
Yes they can take my money. I'm expecting a sequel announcement by the end of next year.
-
Step one: get a job Step two: buy stuff Well done you are now independent so you can stop crying and thinking you deserve stuff for free

Edited by Sigurd Fatima: 10/18/2014 6:24:14 PMIt's only 20 bucks *shrugs* P.S. you should check out one of the lore/story threads if you want to see how meaty the story/lore is. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but there's a lot more to the game than what's on the surface. P.P.S. come on. Who WANTS to spend money if given the option. Just an aside lol

If the game felt complete in the first place, with character development, an actual climactic battle, interesting things alomg the way. I'd have no problem paying to continue the story. As it stands, Destiny plays pretty bare bones, no meat with it's potatoes. It's like ordering a T-bone steak, having to pay upfront, and just getting the bits of gristle and bone and the chef saying, "Oh, the rest of the steak is an extra 30 dollars, and it won't be ready until you're about to leave." Last boss? Reskinned Boss from earlier in the game times three. Even the Raid, which contains arguably the best content in the game has two bosses that are reskins of old ones with a few new tricks. Aetheon is just another Gatelord with the ability to strike a pose and send half your team to one of two tiny locations. Which wouldn't bother me if the AI got an upgrade. It's laughably easy to outwit all of the AI bosses in the game, take cover, shoot, rinse, repeat. Moving into "Higher Difficulty" missions just makes everything do more damage. That's it. Same horde style tactics from every enemy faction and the only time they take cover is when you are sniping from outside of thier combat range. And it ends up being these laughably dumb minions that are the actual threat becuase they just swarm you and have an incredible damage boost and damage reduction. So far the "Events" have been a bust, a new faction appears for you to grind out some new rep levels doing the same missions over and over with modifiers from Halo. At least in Halo I could pick what mods I wanted on. Speaking of Halo, has anyone noticed how, aside from the Vex who use Civil war era British combat tactics (Aka stand in a line and get shot) all the other factions are pretty much copy-pasta of the various races in Halo. Brutes and Cabal, Hive and Flood, Fallen and Elites. A few new enemy types here and there, the shanks and wizards. I can't help but feel like while your graphic artists were hard at work (cuase the game LOOKS absolutely stunning) building new visuals, the rest of the company was just loafing off and when the deadline started coming up there was alot of "Just reuse everything else from Halo, the game looks pretty, no one will notice it lacking in every other department." Pvp is pretty solid, even if the game modes are pretty limited. The grimoire cards are a nice touch, I love reading up on all the lore, but it shouldn't be the only place to find storylore. The game play itself is addicting and the loot to aquire is awesome, but also very limited. A significant portion of the in game gear seems identical aside from a reskinned paintjob. I've been a fan of Bungie's work since back on the PS2 with Oni. I've played and loved every Halo game you guys made. I know you can do better then this, I've seen it, played it, and been inspired by it. One month into this game, it feels like the biggest Bait-and-Switch since the Trojan Horse. Which I suppose is one thing to be proud of.. but it's not what you should be aiming for.
-
Yes we should have to pay. If not then we should pay monthly. Do you want the game to become shit? What a dumb question. Only kids with no income would want it free.
-
I remember at pre-launch, we were speculating how large this file would be. Some came up with 15, 18, even read almost 30GB. Then when i had access to it and it's 7 1/2 GB?? Wtf? Then i knew this wasn't a big game. File size.
-
Gta 5 updates at least once a month with new content and we dont pay them shit extra this is greed nothing more
-
There needs to be some free content considering how barren the game is.
-
Thats complete bs i just paid 60 -blam!-n dollars for the game now to finish the story i gota buy another go -blam!- yourself devs
-
All bungie cares about is money nowadays, I mean Sonys probably paying them big bucks to have the exclusives. Bungie used to be a unique game developing company until they sold halo. Now there just like the rest of them, all they want is money.
-
I hear it's not additional content it's just a pay wall. (Pay to access more of the game) and all the extras are already on the disc.
-
They should definitely add more content in for free, you shouldn't have to pay for the rest of the game, they should make any content they release that pertains to the main story free. Anything that's side material should be for dlc. The only reason should have to pay for dlc that has main story in it, is if it's a hell of an amount of content
-
I have no problem at all with DLC especially in an mmolike game. What I have a serious problem with is the arrogant lack of communication with us and keeping us in the dark. That is even more of a problem as they tend to fix only minor problems and even that the exact opposite way the majority here in the forums would have wanted them to do. This is this game's problem in my opinion. The 20€ are not grave. I lose more from my pockets everytime I hop on my sparrow.
-
Yes, assuming DLC has a side story and not just adding the main story in because they didnt finish it in time for release. Eg: if the speaker tells us what he "could tell" us... Or the exo strangers HAS time to explain in the DLC Then its not Added content, its missing content, if you get what im saying.
-
Garbage, only the retards who live with mom will buy it, that and the losers who come on here to tell us they have a job but they really just live with mommy hahaha. I'm done with this gam3, used to like it, so many flaws, one major one, you can't even socialize in town.. really? It's called social.. yet I only get to stare at other poo shlubs who got ripped off.
-
I'm not paying $35 for a dlc that should be $10 at best. I hope other people decide not to buy it so they realize that price does not match the gameplay you get from it.
-
Maybe...as soon as COD: AW comes out I will be mostly on that or many others I have ordered like halo, forza, sunset overdrive to name a few...anyways, if I were to name every new game that I will definitely play other than this one, that lacks a major issue with its story line because of inside management disputes, then I will be proving to Bungie how they have lost my support in them and their new game franchise. If it will even be a franchise, that is.
