anyone notice how they nerfed the public group events, so you dont get a shard or an energy? why do they nerf everything

It's random. Did some farming w/ a buddy of mine today, we did at least a dozen events, got an energy or shard from roughly half of them.

Every time I have done public lately (since the patch) I receive a Shard as an immediate reward and when I get them mail in the tower I have an energy or vice versa, I mean it, every time. Now maybe it is just luck of the draw. My problem is I am not on long enough daily to get a lot of the public events.

As others have stated, the additional is random, but the bounty also is random. The bounty can also be a mote (ugh) or a coin.

It's not guaranteed. I got one a few events ago but it's not consistent.

You really should avoid posting your limited observations as fact. Not only is this misleading, but it makes you look kind of ridiculous to the people who actually know what's going on.

You need to gold the event to get a shard or energy. You will always get the mail drop for the first public of the day.

They didn't nerf it. The first public event each day gives you ascendent stuff in mail at tower. Every PE after that has about ~10% chance of giving anything. It's always been the same rate...

Huh? I got 2 A-mats for my first Public gold yesterday, one as a drop after completion and one in the mail drop back at Tower. I think RNG just hates your life. :^(

i got a total of 3 within 4 different events yesterday. so i have to think youre just getting unlucky.

Got a shard for each gold event I got for the bounty plus the package in the mail

Yeah, I've not received anything from the public events as of late other than the package I get for completing my first gold each day.

The first day's event will guarantee you something (mode of light, strange coin or an ascendant). Other events are random, so expect to get nothing from most of them.
