I am not alone (even though I am) when it comes to not being able to play the highlight of destiny, the raid(s). From what I've read from the people that have got to access this feature, it seems like almost the best time you can have playing destiny.
Now, me ,and im sure a lot of other people who are unable to play due to not knowing 5 other people with the game or let alone a next gen console (I'm in that boat), are disappointed in this 6 player limitation. I understand that the beginning of the vault of glass you NEED at least 6 people because it's simply impossible to raise the spire. But I figure it wouldn't be too hard to make a single player option. (I have no idea what's beyond the entrance to the vault and if it's literally impossible to do on your own, please stop me now)...
So, continuing on. I see it as any other mission where the difficulty would just be turned down due to being only 1 player, so as to not getting totally -blam!- by vex. There would be less enemies and if you need to stand in a ring to activate it and charge up any other mechanics, it could be taken down a notch so it could be completed by 1 player, not 6. Like only one ring to stand in, not 3.
I understand that doing this type of mission cooperatively is the obvious way to go being more fun with more carnage and more guardians, but I can't see myself finding a group of others to be able to tackle this task, but myself and others are craving the exceptional battle that's been created but inaccessible.
I also think I understand the problem with matchmaking as the raid would have to take the players existing checkpoints and merge them with the people you're playing with, which I think would be a challenge to complete it in more than 1 sitting without a proper checkpoint system, but the matchmaking part you can incorporate later, I know bungie can.
Tl;Dr version..
A single player raid for those of us who are impatient with other features, it would add much more replayability and probably draw back some people that are disappointed with the way the game is. I don't see it as a worthless challenge for the developers because in the next raid that will be coming, I, and many others, will be unable to play it, unless the player limitations change.
Thank you. Community constrictive suggestions are encouraged :)

Raids are fundamentally not supposed to be single player. The entire idea of the raid is to work cooperatively with others.
