looking at your raid stats, you have a total of 23 kills in raid. With such a low amount of kills I would almost doubt that you even got inside, or spent much time trying. You're level 27, good job getting there (I'm not joking). Looking at your gear your have a full set of legendary gear (outside of weapons) but you have not even pushed yourself up to lvl 28 yet for some reason. At level 28 you and a team of 5 people could probably clear the raid in a few hours. One raid a week, that takes a few hours. I think you'll be fine. Stop complaining about things being locked away from you if you aren't even willing to put the time in to try and experience, or work through them. Max level and content is earned, with time, so put some of it in and you WILL hit level 30. If you don't have a group of people to run it with, try messaging people in the tower. Or get on destinyLFG and find a team that way. Stop asking Bungie to do it for you.

  • That is not his point. The point is since raid gear is the ONLY way to hit lvl 30 that every Titan, Hunter and Warlock will look the same at lvl 30. The whole idea of a custom character that looks how you want them too goes out the window.

  • that is ONE of his points, however the majority of the post, and the title of the thread is "Raid gear SHOULD NOT be the only way to get to lvl 30!" at least that's how it came off to me. If you want more cosmetics, I have no problems with that. I think if we look across most MMO's though, all of the raid sets for each class look the same. Some might have different shaders already on them, but the sets in and of themselves look identical. Obviously you can customize in some games, but even in WoW that was only added in a recent expansion.

lright, someone already brought up my raid kills before. Im not denying that. Im not, ive never completed the raid. But its not the 'Exclusivist' nature of the raid that im upset about. Mainly, its the lack of customization and the fact that they made level equal to the number of times you complete one mission. Thats not how leveling works. Also im level twenty seven because im a fulltime student and part time waiter who still works 5 days a week including weekend, which would normally be my downtime from school

  • every MMO I have ever played has some sort of gear system, whether it be based on a stat bonus for completing the hardest content (world of warcraft style) or something similar to destiny's light system. It's one of the main and defining components of these types of games. I will give you that destiny's light based, and level included gear system is a bit strange, and quite a bit different than the stat based game most MMO's tend to be. However most MMO's tend to be on a PC, and as such have quite different styles of play/playerbases. Having "30" above your head, or seeing that above your head is something a lot of people in the community strive for, it's why you made the post in the first place correct? You personally, want to be level 30. There is nothing wrong with that, this game, and the games like it are designed to make you want that. It's what keeps us coming back. So if they remove that, and make is easily accessible to everyone, they lose a very powerful psychological motivator over a large amount of the player base. What players want, and what actually drives a game to be great are very separate things in my experience. The game is new, I'm 100% positive more customization will be included in time. My only question to you would be this, you say you want access to level 30. Why? What do you need it for? You just said you have not spent the time to even clear the normal mode raid (which btw is totally fine, doesn't bother me in the slightest), the higher levels are really ONLY needed if you want to clear hard mode. Crucible has level's turned off, nightfall and weekly both cap at lvl 28. Hell even Iron banner has almost no penalty to level differences. You, right now, with your current gear can get all the way to lvl 29, which is high enough to do everything the game has to offer up to and including getting a start in hard mode. If you want to have the best gear in the game, unfortunately in a game like this that takes a considerable amount of time. Which you state you don't have. Ok, accept that and move on. Maybe at a later date you will be able to play more, but don't ask a game developer, or a community to give up the higher reaches, and rewards for playing in those higher areas just because you don't have time. And just so we're clear, I'm a full time college student studying Chemical Engineering and waiting tables 3-4 nights a week. We aren't that different.
