Edit: Congrats everyone we were successful (at least in part) Please read Bungie's newest announcement here http://www.bungie.net/7_Bungie-Weekly-Update---10172014/en/News/News?aid=12295
DeeJ,
I have waited for destiny for a long time and had high hopes, but now you have proven to me that you have no idea what players want. This patch/suicide note, is absolute crap. I was a good little fanboy, I was willing to overlook the flaws in story line, gameplay, crap PvP, and mission design (yay protect dinglebot again while he performs a task that takes the storyline nowhere, I love this one!) I was even willing to overlook the insane bullet absorbing ability of every boss, and the fact that higher difficulty just meant adding oversheilds and even more damage absorbing powers, instead of a need for a new strategy. I was even willing to find 5 other players who had high levels, and enjoy dealing with frustrating glitches (oh look the portal didn't teleport me when I stepped through it again, guess that's a wipe guys, let's start over) and all because I wanted the best weapon in the game, you know a weapon that said "this guy went through days of the gaming equivalent to water boarding to get that, he earned it" so that you could nerf it by a third! Screw you bungie!
With great skill comes great reward, or now in this case with great skill comes the same stupid garbage that everyone else can find on the ground from a lvl one enemy! Do you understand nothing about what motivates gamers, and especially MMO gamers? We want that item that wails on people and does more damage than any other, because we earned it! The sense of accomplishment after doing the immposible and then having others recognize what you have achieved. It is the same reason we level in the first place, so that we can go back, find the mobs that killed us before and destroy them utterly, and in record time! (Btw you screwed that up as well, I shouldn't need to shoot a lvl 5 mob 4 times to kill them at level 29, they should explode, and peices of them should rain down on me as if its a blessing from some wrathful God. Also level 5 mobs should cower in fear of me, and hope that I do not turn my gaze upon them lest they are destroyed. What they shouldn't do is jump in my face like they did when I was a level 3) In short bungie, all of your weapons suck and need to do more to make us feel powerful in PvE when we reach endgame, they do not need to be nerfed, simply increase the ones you failed on.The enemies beneeth my lvl should act like it, they should act like we had to when we saw a level 25 and were only a lvl 10. (we ran away, fast, or were cut down with barely a wave of their hand, and we could do no damage to them.... at all......even with rockets!)
Bungie you have just turned a game that I was willing to forgive almost anything and justify its flaws to anyone....into my next trade in at gamestop. Once upon a time Xbox had a game called chromehounds and it was perfect for a year with a thriving online community, then they listened to the 10 year olds whining about it not being fair that people who worked for 400 hours had better gear than they did and could kill them, so they patched it to make it more fair to the newcommer who had invested no time and earned nothing, and the game died in under a month, please take this lesson to heart. As for myself and my clan, we want to stay and play for years but if you reward our loyalty and hard work (not to mention endless hours of raiding) with nerfing our loot, and ruining our clever strategies on raid we will go where we can get that feeling of accomplishment again, and you can pander to the casual gamers that are going to stop playing your game in 2 months regardless of what you do. Games where you level are meant to give advantages for leveling and games with Raids (MMOs) are supposed to have overpowered rewards for doing insane things on insane levels. Basically you have made the Raid even more difficult and reduced the reward for it, and taken away the aspect I liked most about the raid which was it forced players to be clever, to find ways to beat him that you did not intend (since you clearly intended for every boss to have the same strategy, dump enough ammo to cut the great prymids in half while avoiding getting shot and destroying the adds) let us face the truth, going from level 29 to level 30 is a tiny reward and it means shredding all the gear you bought or found for gear with very similiar stats and a slight defense bonus or worst case you end up with stats like "Increases shotgun ammo" when you hate shotguns and would rather use anything but that, to kill an enemy. If players whine about being killed in PvP too much by the Vex Mythoclast then here is a novel Idea... GO GET A MYTHOCLAST YOU IDIOT! The whole point in beating the overly difficult raid on 30 (soon to be almost immposible) is to improve.
This game just turned into a little league soccer game where "everyone is a special little snowflake, and nobody keeps score because no matter what you do we are all equal" So I am done excusing this game and may be done with it completly very soon. If this game had come out without the Bungie name behind it, it would currently have a score of 20/100 instead of 77/100 and you just took away all the incentive to play, by breaking any reason to participate in the ridiculously difficult endgame content. I beat level 30 Raid five times with the help of my very skilled clanmembers and can see no reason at all to beat it a sixth time. My disaspointment is only surpassed by your shame bungie. I hope you learn a lesson and spend more time fixing issues and creating new content (which of course you will then divide up and sell to us in ridiculously small increments) and stop destroying the few parts that already worked. Perhaps even try out a game that includes bosses more complicated than those found in "Contra" (bosses can absorb more damage and deal more damge with each level) and more mission depth than found in pong (defend stupidbot, and activate horde mode are not your only choices bungie, I promise). Right now you have held all of us hostage with the promise of great things in the future but crap in the present. When the Cryptach did that you said you took him to the woodshed, So take this as your trip to the woodshed and learn your lesson, if I wanted to play a game where everyone is equal and has the same gear I will go play call of duty. If you want me to spend years leveling up and "becoming legend" than reward me accordingly! You are Bungie, now act like it.
Edit: Some sort of response from Bungie would be greatly appreciated, so DeeJ if you read this drop us a line, I am sure everyone is more interested on what you have to say than they are in what I have said, I for one await your response eagerly, even if you just say "I read this" Thanks.
Edit: Day 3: Bungie, DeeJ, Your silence is becoming deafening.....

Body shots: 1 hit yesterday - 41 dmg 1 hit tomorrow - 27 dmg (-34% from b4) Head shots: 1 precision hit yesterday - 51 1 precision hit tomorrow - 41 (-20% from b4) Guardian base health - 200 Points to numbers only lost 10 points for SKILLED users. on to the rest of pnkssbtz post. frankly bungie is in a tight spot thanks to its producer Activision saying that certain elements need to be left out from the get go. bungie cant work much around a story if the story is in pieces. they also cant make things that should be in place in place cause of restrictions once more set by activision. however it all cant be blamed on activision. bad testing of a product leads to bad things happening down the like. VM is a prefect example its a ridiculously strong gun that you have to put in so much effort and luck to get that your puking your guts out at the end of it and that is minus having to level it up. Now fast forward for a proper test phase for the weapons and vex mytho was set at current patch level already since release. every one would be singing praises and woes about it left and right. the woes would be people who cant use it correctly and body shot more often and the praises would be people who can consistently head shot either by skill (or cheats.) there will still be the few VM is op threads like every thing else is now but there would be less of them cause its a balanced gun from the start and this BS with people having played it like a god weapon that they can lord over PVP with would never have been known. Now skip round rewrite and kick back to the shotgun. they should never have been an alternative to long range weapons from the start. some shotguns could get massive ranges buffs that basically made them kill things from across large rooms. not even touching on the ones that had the ability to pretend sniper rifle as a shotgun cause that was insane when I first encountered it. now ANYONE could have gotten these guns literally ANYONE. however to get them you have to have incredible luck. cause you needed a certain combination of perks to make them work proper. bungie hit on those big time and reduced it base range to match closer to what a shotgun should do for a max range. again proper testing would have caught this and we would not have know the world of shotguns that could replace all weapons types and there would be no QQ over this. Now drop back again and look at the AR. it was another one that was a huge issue in the early phase weeks 1-3 in PVP. the AR could effectively take over the other gun types of its same slot with a level 16 gun some or other -E never got it never cared to get it rather work for my kills in PVP then get some god weapon and troll through it null sweat cause if I work though the "god weapons" I will eventually get on a level that I am not going my current score on average. that is called building skill. however that is me getting off topic and now going back on. 1 AR could dominate in PVP cause of its perk set and it always gets the same perk set. it made sniper rifles pointless, scout rifles where jokes compared to it, hand cannons lacked its zoom, and pulse rifles could not keep up on the damage output with its burst. on top of this that AR was incredibly stable according to reports so it did not jink around so much that consistent head shot was hard to get even then its body shot power was nothing to sneeze at even at longer ranges where scout/snipers should have excelled past the AR. now the hot fix brings AR's in line with where they should be close to medium range and every one who used the -E whine cause they cant out power snipers at long ranges. now do a 360 and look at scout rifles. weapon that is basically over looked cause you can just get an AR or run shotguns and be the same effective weapon with more power. this needed a buff badly sad to say. however bungie did not predict the affects of existing perks on certain weapons. frankly I like the idea of the weapons they did those with having the uqineness of long range shotguns or sniper AR's but frankly those over take other class weapons and then the problems begin. I hardly see a scout rifle in PVP its all AR shotguns VMs or some how some one starting with heavy weapon ammo and trolling though the map with seemingly endless heavy ammo on a rocket launcher even though heavy ammo does not spawn at the start of a map. on the other hand PVE I see a lot of scout rifle useage when I ask why they use it in PVE verus PVP they reply nearly the say every time. Scout rifles are not as effective as other class weapons the risk/reward for usage in PVP is not worth it and I have run PVP with it as well and I am to agree with them. now the patch wont fix the under power of the scout rifle but it might give it a chance in hell at taking on other gun types. Now we slip in to a middle ground here. the pulse rifle. this gun type is over looked cause of its over all power is in how fast one can pull the trigger and keep the targets head in the stream. not that hard for some guns but they dont normally have the power and the ones that do have crappy stabilize and not so good perks to make up for that. however one gun had the power and it was a good gun. strangers rifle. this gun had a decent balance between damage and stability. it also had its moment before other more powerful weapons found the way on to the stage. pulse rifles need some good attention and need to find that placement in that medium range category. Hand cannons are the final hinky piece I would like to mention. it either works or it dont. problem is people who dont have the grit to use these weapons miss out on a lot of damage. most hand cannons have the power to drop enemies in a few hits. the draw back is that they have great "stability" if your willing to wait for the weapon to reset to its original position every time. tried to rapid fire one one time it just keeps climbing and you cant really do a tracking down motion to keep it honest. however that is the cost for the power you get on the weapon.
