As far as 'fixes' go, adding more areas which kill you for no apparent reason is pretty much the laziest design decision I can think of.
Oh, no, I forgot invisible walls. I'm not sure which is lazier though... They might be tied.

Its better they fix it lazily now than wait a few weeks to patch/change terrain and allow more players to illegitimately proceed.
-
The whole patch was pointless patch pushing them off standing behind a rock for a slower kill and no chance at the extra chest sounds like the only people you can hurt doing this is yourselves but I'm guessing you're the guy who also tells your neighbor how to cut his grass because it isn't how you like yours
-
I wouldnt tell my neighbor shit because its his grass. What you dont understand is that this is not your game. You dont go to a chess tournament and say that you are gonna set new ground rules for your pieces because thats how you play. No, games have rules plain and simple.
-
In a way it is "our" game. The community drives Destiny at large, and Bungie knows this. Creativity and intelligent ways / ideas / solutions to solving puzzles within Destiny, more specifically the Raid, should be encouraged and not just simply "kill-zoned."
-
What about ignoring game mechanics do you not understand? Developers put effort into creating the game as it should be only to have people develop creative ways to ignore all their hard work. Sorry but this is not our game. We invest in its development by purchasing a pass to play the game. I dont go to disney world and say I own the park just because I bought a season pass.
-
I do not see how the platform ignored game mechanics. You still used the relic to cleanse when all the oracles could not be killed and you still had to use the relic to drop the Templar's shield. Not using "game mechanics" would be along the lines of "cheesing" the Templar or Atheon off the edge.
-
Do you know what an enrage timer entails? Enrage timers are, by design, dps checks and by historical fact are designed to wipe the party if reached. So when you can sit in one spot and laugh at an enrage timer there is an issue with the strategy being employed. Is everyone here -blam!-ing new to MMOs or something?! Wtf
-
You're missing a key point. The fight was created and bungie themselves said they wanted people to figure out there own strategies there own methods of how to accomplish the fight. If you limit player options the way they just did that's like saying try new things and experiment but only one option. Is correct. Its self defeating. Strategy requires legit choices and multiple options or else your just doing a puzzle with pre cut pieces
-
Again!!!!! The "strategy" employed ignored boss mechanics, what the -blam!-ing -blam!- sounds legitimate about that? You people are like the bitch that rode a bus to the finish line during a marathon race.
-
So to sum up what I am the post am saying. Encourage intelligent players to try new things as you wanted. Encourage ingenuity. Do not use invisible wall type methods to close players off from areas and places they can clearly reach. If players through intelligent choice find a way to kill the boss legit but in a way that makes it to easy find a way to make that strategy less plausible thus encouraging players to not do it but still allowing them too even if it will likely fail due to the new mechanic. It's about fixing things in a way that feels legit and makes sense and doesn't steal from the experience and the ingenuity
-
Its not that they closed it off its how they did. Imagine the first group who figured that out its a genuine strategy that out smarted the game designers that should be rewarded in video games. But at the same time it has become an exploit so it does need to be dealt with but there is a right and wrong way to do that. The wrong way kills the euphoria by cutting you off in a silly way. If it looks like you can go somewhere than you should be able to.
-
Ok, so then a better fix would be buffing the enrage and make it an insta wipe
-
Possibly yeah sure why not. Still kind of simple but better yes.
-
That's why were saying add a mechanic to the platform to encourage players to not do that but without removing the possibility through an invisible wall or kill zone. It destroys the illusion of an open world which is what they want. All they had to do like some suggest is add a minotaur spawn to that platform and boom most players wouldn't find it worthwhile.
-
I can assure you the same people would still be crying
-
But it wouldn't break the open world feel or the possibility of "hey maybe there's a better way".
-
Fair enough
-
Yes it is my game and me playing how I wanna play doesn't effect you at all Nerf gun for pvp go ahead but in PvE df does it matter there's no global ranking scale you probably don't play competitively and the games rules are simply here's the area play in it however you want atleast that's what they said but now I'm being told I can't play a game I paid for how I want because others don't like it even tho it hurts no one and effects no one but myself
-
Its not your game you over entitled little shit. You have 0 ownership of the infrastructure and development. Your 60 dollars is a "pass", entry fee, access key to play a game. If this WAS your game you would be able to freely change the game code to bend to your will.
-
It is MY game its all our game you included not over entitled I paid for it just like all these other people and simple fact is that a lot of us wouldn't buy it again asking bungie to not ruin the playing experience of our game isn't asking to much we should all be able to play exactly how we want
-
Edited by Nourface: 10/15/2014 8:13:23 PMNo its not your game. The fck is wrong with you?! Please tell me where I can change the coding in the game to give me a mythoclast. Because if it were my game I should be able to do this.
-
Absolutely nothing we are the consumers its a simple concept we don't like it we don't buy it
-
Purchasing power does not give you ownership sorry. Thats words of an ignorant consumer.
-
This is the entertainment industry they either keep us entertained or their game dies so yea I alone don't make the slightest difference but more and more people are becoming unhappy with the way bungie is running the game and someday soon they'll up and quit and stop buying dlc

Forum and community outcries =\= the population opinion. Sorry to burst your bubble.
