The biggest problem is that Bungies decision making just seems so horrible. They need to hire some outside consultants at this point. There is a multitude of relatively simple changes they could make, but all they are really doing is nerfing weapons. (Btw the next gun everyone will be complaining about is Vision of Confluence, since it's a fully auto scout rifle, can't wait to own another useless gun next week)
I'm already pretty much done with Destiny, I see no point in defeating Sepkis Prime for what seems like the 20th time in a month. Any gear I get doing missions and strikes is no longer worthwhile compared to the Raid gear. I already have the weapons I want for the most part, so now it's just me playing daily missions just hoping that I'll get one more damn ascendant shard, instead of the energy that I get dumped on my head about 80 percent of the time. And the prospect of doing this same monotonous grind with 2 more characters is no longer appealing in any way. When I'm stuck at the same level for over a week, just relying on a RNG to level me up, you are giving me very little incentive to keep playing. I've sunk about 160 hours into this game, so I can't say I haven't gotten my monies worth. However, I really have no more desire to defeat the Winter Kell for the fifth night in a row.
Bungie seems completely deaf to this games real problems, and just wants to pander to the crucible criers and to make sure that no one is exploiting their game design. Worrying too much about exploits and not enough about core gameplay is the same thing that ruined GTA online. Bungie appears to have a tough time learning from others mistakes. I really don't know how they expect to hang onto players for much longer. The expansion DLC didn't look like it had more than a couple hours of missions to do anyway after that bug was discovered. If you're giving me no reason to play, then I won't play anymore. Simple. The PVP in this game is simply ok, nothing great, but with only 4 scant game modes, and not even an in game leaderboard (really?), I can't see myself putting in a lot of hours playing Crucible. Luckily, the next couple months have a fairly sizable group of games being released. Destiny will certainly see a big dip in daily players if they don't shake things up quickly. A days worth of DLC won't bring the masses rushing back.
