Raid Boss Exploiting

I've noticed as of late that it's getting harder and harder for me to find a group of people who are willing to play through the raid on hard as intended, instead of using game exploits to beat the Templar and Atheon. While you are free to play the game however you like, please explain to me what is the point of obtaining level 30 raid gear and weapons when all you are going to do is exploit the raid bosses for loot? Your level in Destiny indicates your time invested in the game, not your skill This is why you see high level players complaining on the forums that the Iron Banner is broken because they get killed by a level 8. When in reality that level 8 is simply just a better player because he spends his time actually playing the game, not sitting in a raid waiting for the Warlock in your group to knock Atheon off the ledge so you can get your Vex Mythoclast. If there is anyone out there who actually plays the raid for the challenge, one of the few actual challenging things in Destiny, hit me up on Xbox One, gamertag: SciA enjoy the game

  • I agree to an extent that the exploits are pointless. My main reason is that these fights....aren't that hard. There's something like three mechanics per boss and only one wipe mechanic in the whole raid. I too see that these hidden ledges and AI programmed to avoid AoE are apart of the game. A team with some sort of strat could position flanking snipers for the Templar or have someone tank the boss with AoE aggro instead of going the route they have. The point is the same point it's always been. To get to ilvl cap and stand around the common areas flexing nuts. Unfortunately, that's what most of these games are about; making other people jelly by your rank. The bigger issue, imo, is that the raids and strikes are way too easy and the loot drops are way to often. The word Exotic obviously has a different meaning in destiny. Something more along the lines of kind of hard to get, but not really and in case there's any nerd rage, here's an exotic vendor. Are you one of the lucky few that got a Suros or Icebreaker drop? Too bad. Now that the Suros has been nerfed into the ground it's useless anyway. I understand stroking the pvp nerds, but whose going to give me back all the time and Energies used to upgrade that yellow paperweight? But I digress. Raiding is supposed to be about assembling a cohesive team that overcomes certain obstacles to triumph against all odds. Destiny raiding has become more about the cheap exploit of the week. I agree that if a ledge on the side of the map is left in play, then there's a reason. If a boss is programmed not to stand in AoE, there's a reason. These games go through extensive testing in dev, alpha and beta after all. Bottom line, if your goal is to look supper badass brah, then you'll probably find a way to do it with the least amount of effort. If your goal is to play the game, you'll probably find people of a like mind.
