I too share your disdain for the blue in the AOS Cryptid armor and the fact it doesn't recolor with shaders (I'm a dude), it's ugly, but currently matches my boots (Better to match there than stick out?)

I am on the last slot for all of them (helm, greaves, boots) and just can't bring myself to waste the precious precious AE on them. Worst part? The only ones I see that I like need Crucible points. Seriously... just kill me now. I should have added that I spent two hours farming resources for Crucible marks just so I didn't have to play it. 0.47 K/D ratio, baby. Hollah!
