Caterpillar and Xbox Live disconnections still ruining the game

I'm still having a lot of difficulty with playing the game. I keep getting disconnected despite a stable LAN network connection. I've called my ISP many times and they have sent out a technician and have replaced my modem just in case, even though every single other device is working flawlessly without any disconnections, and most on wifi at that. I've contacted Xbox Live support also many times and have been walked through port forwarding, port triggers, DMZ, static IP setup, and pretty much everything else under the sun that could affect my connection. They even helped me set up a ping that tested my connection for capability of continuously handling the largest packet size the game could use, and there were no losses. Xbox Live only disconnects while playing Destiny, and otherwise has never had any connectivity issues. I'm often able to participate in strikes without issue, however I can't seem to perform missions or patrols without getting either a caterpillar error or a straight up Xbox Live disconnection every 3-5 minutes. This proves that it is the game and the Destiny servers causing the issue, and not my connection or hardware, however it does not explain why I'm still a minority in my struggles. I would greatly appreciate if someone from Bungie would take the time to help me figure out why I'm still getting these problems, and aid me in fixing them so I can finally get my money's worth and just finally enjoy the game. Edit: I've also re-downloaded my profile and re-installed the game numerous times and even exchanged the game disc for a new copy.

What modem/router do you use? I have a UBEE gateway (modem/router combo). They don't seem to work well because gateways are horrible for gaming and dont forward ports correctly. I had to put my UBEE in bridge mode and connect it to a Netgear router. Bridgemode makes the gateway act as a modem only (disabling the router side). This worked for fixing my caterpillar and hawk errors I was getting constantly. I've played on and off all day and havent been DC'd once. In the end it may not be 100% your hardware but something in Bungie's network that will not work well with the difficulties that gateways introduce.
