I don't actually notice a difference between the two, but that's my own personal opinion.
As for DLC, both games are asking for around $90 for their "complete" versions (DLC), however for Borderlands this is 4 DLC content, while Destiny is only 2. Additionally, if the current trend is applicable, then that means that each of Destiny's DLCs will be far smaller than the Pre-Sequel's. If you go with the Game of the Year edition, it means that the Pre-Sequel will give you even more value, as it will be a magnitude more content for a cheaper price.
