What's really going on here?

Let me preface this by saying that I really do enjoy this game, but with the recent updates, I'm finding it harder and harder to bring myself to continue playing it. Throughout some of the new updates Bungie has been changing many aspects of the game as you all have noticed. Some of the updates are really good, and make the game much better, but some are just irksome. 1. Engrams Thank you Bungie for removing the ability to get the lower class of item from an engram. The first legendary I got gave me a rare upon opening, and you could say I was less than pleased. I am so glad to see that we get the type of item that the engram is or higher now, but it seems nearly impossible to get legendaries. Since the update that fixed engrams, I have found a total of 2 legendary engrams, that's it. It's possible that I'm just unlucky and have a difficult time getting legendary engrams, but I've heard some other people complaining about it as well. I'm nearing level 30 on all of my characters, so don't really have a need for the legendary engrams anymore, but I feel bad for the players that have had a rough time leveling up, because now it is so much more difficult. 2. Templar Many people were complaining on the forums about groups using the platform cheat to beat the Templar on the Vault of Glass, because it was cheating. I find validity in what people were saying, because it is a fairly cheap way to win that specific part of the raid. It was probably a good thing that Bungie patched this spot, because the raid became what it was intended to be. The only problem with taking away this spot, is that around the same time, Bungie also decided it would be a good idea to nerf (reduce the strength of) auto rifles to make the crucible more fair. The major problem that I find with this is that many players use auto rifles, especially in the raid, because you have to kill many things, and your fingers grow tired from spamming that right trigger to use a pulse rifle, scout rifle, or hand cannon. When Bungie did both of these updates they made the raid significantly harder for the players that didn't have any raid gear or raid weapons yet. 3. Atheon Cheesing Atheon is where people knock Atheon off of the edge of the map, typically using vortex abilities on a warlock. This is an extremely easy way to defeat Atheon, and needed to be patched to make the boss fight what it originally should have been. I don't agree with the idea of teleporting random teammates instead of the ones furthest back. Typically when running the raid, people designate 3 people to defend the sync plates, and 3 people to go into the portal based on their skills and item configuration. By teleporting random people, the raid becomes much more difficult for the players that are new to the raid, because they have to die so many times learning both roles, and they can't be carried through the mission as easily by the kind higher leveled players that help out in the game. 4. Crucible There are many people that enjoy the crucible in Destiny, but as Bungie makes alterations to the stats of the weapons to compensate for them being overpowered in the crucible, they make the game much harder for the people who like to play the story lines, strikes, and raids. The vex mythoclast is a prime example of a weapon that was nerfed for the crucible, and Bungie didn't bother to weigh the consequences of altering its strength outside of the crucible. My solution for this would be that Bungie store seperate item id statistics for the items in the crucible, so that the weapons have different stats in the crucible than outside of the crucible. I understand that they want to balance the game in crucible, but it appears that every time they try they destroy the game outside the crucible, so I think that they should alter the stats of the equipment solely in the crucible. Just to recap, I do enjoy Destiny, but it seems like nearly everything going for the player is nerfed, causing the players to have an extremely difficult time completing missions, strikes, and raids. I wish Bungie would figure out how to fix some of this stuff.

  • First thing's first, I love this game and have logged around 150hrs on it. Here we go... What's happened is Bungie didn't create enough content for players to experience. So they're making it take longer to complete the existing content to cover up their mistake(s). Instead of working to release actual content and properly tune items and classes; they have decided that stretching their content will somehow make it better. They make ridiculous statements via DeeJ that certain things like the teleport are bugs, but never made those statements when the first raid was completed. Nor did they make these statements when the first team beat the raid on hard mode. Instead of owning up to their mistakes, the company as a whole is acting like a child that believes they've done nothing wrong. In fact they've ignored the community on the more important things. From another player who actually DOES like this game :)
