K/d is not an indicator of skill. People think it is, but it's not. What if someone hid in a corner and only got kills with a rocket launcher? They could go 6-0 by the end of a match, 6.0. I wouldn't say they makes them better than someone who went 25-5 which is only 5.0.
And what about game modes with objectives? Someone who spends all their time successfully taking control points might be a great player but their k/d might say otherwise because they're playing the objective.
Someone's kill/death ratio is as much a display of a players skill as their rank in Call of Duty is, i.e. It isn't.
