I'm stuck in a rut
My level is high enough that strike playlist is irrelevant, my gear is too weak for me to do the raid or nightfall. The only exotic I've gotten was from xur, and I never get legendaries from drops or cryptarch packages anymore.
I'm stuck in that awkward space between end-game content and all the easy stuff.

The marks that you get from working with certain factions will EVENTUALLY allow you to by faction armour That's pretty much the only way Also, try doing the weekly nightfall every Tuesday as you get bonus XP and rep It's still a joke though

I'm in the same boat bro. I seem to always get the shit end of the rng stick. I've got full purple armor with exotic head and chest (both bought from xur). 1 purple weapon and working on my first exotic bounty (invective). I just wanna raid but it's hard to find enough people with the same times as me. I mostly just stick to pvp these days. I'm happy enough with my skill to not really care if I don't get that sweet loot at the end of the match.

I use the Tiger playlist to get Vanguard marks and engrams to level up the Cryptarch for the hopeful legendary mail package. That's some of my motivation

2 RepliesI can't see your characters because of your Bungie.net settings. Or the account you posted from. Either way, I want to feel your pain, but I need more info in order to do that. Some levels are annoying and you seem to be stuck in there forever (my dry period was 27), then I just met a few people, and started leading a raid group. All my problems were solved in a couple of weeks. What level are you? What's your gear? What are you doing daily? So many things that could be affecting you, and creating the rut.

I did a crap load of Tiger Strikes at 27 to get enough legendaries and marks for gear. I understand your pain. It isn't much better when you start raiding once/twice a week in hopes of getting raid gear either. Now I just knock out dailies for shards and wait for the Nightfall/Raid reset.

Just keep doing tiger strikes, I've had pretty good luck with legendary engram's from that.

Level up the vanguard through tiger strikes and bounties. Once you hit level two, you can buy legendary armor. Go look at the factions and vanguard armor perks/stats before you decide to level a specific one up. 1 piece of exotic with the rest legendary maxed will ensure a good raid character. I believe you are a 29 with said gear equipped and maxed.

Level up gear to level 27-28. Then stop. Then do raid Then create new character of same class, level up to 20 Swap gear to your new character Do raid with that character Rinse and repeat

I was in the same spot you're in now for about two weeks :( but if you can do some bounties and patrols to get your vanguard to rank 2 you can buy his legendary gear and it will open up everything! It will be fun again after that trust me! You can do it!

I was able to get vanguard armor which gave me that needed boost. If you can get your vanguard to level 2 you'll be golden for a while. Or is it level 3.....i forget. Anyways, check it out!
