Weapon Manufacturers
Interesting to me since Suros Regime has SUROS on the side and The Last Word has Tex Mechanica on its frame.
When I noticed the "brands" at first I thought it was in significant like the manufacturers were in PSO
However there may be hidden buffs to wearing the "Brand''s emblem like increased drops of that particular firearm

EDIT: The guide book as a ton of other weapons and variants i have yet to see. maybe they come with the dlc? because i seem to get the same types of weapon drops over and over
EDIT 2: (first in a long time) it looks like Brands are gonna start mattering in the taken king. the latest sneak peak of weapons shows manufacturer specific skill trees and skins

2 Repliesactually the only weapon manufacturers are hake, omolon, suros, tex mechanica, and crux/lomar. they all have different idea for there wepondry. hake is a very balanced weapon. Omolon seems to more heavily focus on one stat. crux lomar is about the perks and the effectiveness behing them. tex mechanica is about damage, and suros Is about experimentation, and fun trials with werid weapon schemes
