Would anyone here be willing to help me learn to Raid? I'm usually on in the morning to afternoon although not today. I am a level 28 warlock.

  • Check out planet destiny and the raid guide. Has pretty much everything covered. It is an excellent reference for anyone prepping for The VoG.

Have a peek on Youtube for the video footage of a complete VoG raid. It's NOT going to have all the answers, but it WILL give you an idea on what you are facing. DarkChildOfLight is pretty much spot on with what he's saying. My first raid was last night and I listened to what the other guys were saying prior to launching into each next section. That advice and guidance was truly invaluable. I was partnered with a chap who has loads of experience and it made the process a lot easier, and more enjoyable. Oh yes, wait until everyone is together before opening chests! If you don't have loads of friends playing Destiny, seek out a clan. That's what I did and got lucky with a team I work with easily. Hope it helps.

I don't know how to find clans even. I've mostly just played with my brother and a friend I met in high school. I have a couple of online friends I made from Strikes but that's about it. Most games have social experiences on their own forums and in-game, so I've never had to figure out which fan site were the best for getting a group of people. This game's lack of social functions is very frustrating.

I'm assuming you're on Bungie.net. If not, create an account using your Xbox/PS account. Have a look at the far left side of the window, the black/charcoal column with icons. About hallway down is one icon that resembles a banner (three vertical bars - flags if you will). That's the clan page. If you're not affiliated with one, it will know this and prompt you to join a clan and offer suggestions if you do click on the page (well, it offered suggestions to me). Not sure if you can belong to more than one clan. But if you're in a good one, why venture outside of it. You don't HAVE to join one, but it certainly makes some things a lot easier - finding people to go on raids, strikes (taking away the uncertainty of unknown players), missions, challenges, and generally just shooting stuff. I was lucky, I played a strike with two guys were very team-oriented and not like a lot of players who shout "YEEHAA!!!! Look at me go!!" as they get gunned down at the start, or "I was best at that, 'I' got more kills than you" (sigh). I befriended them and joined the clan. They've been extremely good and accommodating and take time to explain their experiences and a good way forward in the raid. Good team players listen to newcomers as well, even if they're wrong! It may be worth noting, these are the first people I have befriended online for a very long time. I'm very careful about who I friend but in this case it's worked out really well. Hope this helps. Not sure what console you're on. If it's a 360, I may seen you around. If not, good hunting!
