I have yet to attempt the raid for a few reasons. A: i'm a hunter and that seems undesirable.B: i'm trying to push into level 27 to improve my chances and C: I know there are certain factors like the ones you have mentioned and am reluctant to spoil others raid experience by not knowing them so thank you for the tips, they are greatly appreciated.

Hunters are actually very key to the Atheon fight. Up until they implement the random teleport, the best team to get teleported away is 1 relic holder and 2 golden gun hunters. Once teleported, me and another hunter immediately use our golden guns and clear all mobs for the relic holder then swiftly move to take down the oracles. It's super easy that way. We defeated Atheon on our run today with no problems while doing that Those that want warlocks to push Atheon are doing it on hard mode and/or don't care to play the game the way it should be played.

Golden gun works great against the tons of minotaurs and oracles you face. I have a helmet that gives me another shot, so against atheon I can fire off at least 12 shots on a good round.

one of the reasons why people don't like us "Hunters" is because they can't throw atheon or the templar off the map lol

They can

I have a hunter and titan and I will run woth any class. I prefer hunters though bc they can take down big groups/bosses early woth the golden gun that makes the target explode

Any competent group can do it with any mixture of player classes. If a group doesn't want you because you are a hunter, that is a group that you don't want to be raiding with anyway. Level makes a gigantic difference though.

Why do people think Hunters are undesirable? My main is a Hunter and I've beaten it on normal and hard many times. Never had a problem and never had a situation where I needed another character, and I've played all roles in all areas. Level and weapons makes the real difference.
