Going to say, a striker titan is just as effective as a defender here. On atheon, whenever I go in I use fist of havoc with death from above (helm of inward light) and shockwave to kill the enemies. That way, the relic person can focus on keeping us cleansed, and so he doesn't get killed by the enemies. Though defender gives void damage, you can make it up with a void fusion rifle and machine gun.
Your fusion rifle doesn't have to be legendary to be good in there. I use a rare just because it has a moderate impact and a fantastic charge rate. The faster you can get your shots out, the better

Easier to just fire a rocket down each, 3 rockets normally kills everything

On the other hand, you're not going to FoH on Atheon, and if you have two titans, only one needs bubble for weapons of light, if you're even bothering to use it (and we sure as hell don't need it)

Can kill him in 2 portals using fusion rifles while staying in the bubble, jumping to shoot rockets can get you killed

We don't use the bubble since the people inside often die for no reason anyway. We spread out around the room and unload as soon as portal team gets to the back of the room

You gotta be infront of the person holding the relic, after lot's of dieing someone figured it out and now we never die

Besides, when you don't use the shield, you can spam the relic super for 10-15k a pop. Add that to the rockets and he sometimes drops in one portal.

Or you use foh so you can save your heavy ammo for atheon ;) I notice that I am not the best shot when shooting at atheon, so what I do is jump to a good enough of a height and spam my flashbang grenade. It deals about 5k damage each and I can throw at least 5 off during times vengeance

yeah, we killed him in 2 portals as well, but we didn't use fusion rifles nor pushed him off
