It wouldn't really mix up gameplay too much, but it would certainly make the motivation for playing Crucible much more dynamic and therefore interesting. I'm for it.

the gameplay is fine in my opinion. I just want to represent one of the factions in a meaningful way.

Just as with the rest of the game, the core gameplay is solid, but without a story, it is difficult to truly immerse yourself. Your complaint is just reflective of Destiny as a whole, and I fully agree with you.
