No. I like the very loose story line. I didn't at first but I can fill in my own blanks. I like to imagine that the Traveller is the bad guy and we've been resurrected from the dead to defend it. The Cabal, Fallen, Hive, and the Vex have all banded together to rid the universe of the Traveller (destroyer of worlds) once and for all. It's up to us to ensure that our side triumphs once again.
Sorta like how those evil Jedi rebel terrorists destroyed the Death Star along with thousands of innocent people causing further instability in the galaxy.

Yeah they had formed an uneasy alliance but it split up after the Traveller was weakened. That whole part of the story would've been on a grimoire card!
