Yeah I'm not seeing the need for much of a buff either. I only just recently got the thing but it's pretty nasty in the Crucible. I think part of the problem is people may not realize it's a long-range weapon - you do NOT use Thorn at Close or mid range unless you absolutely have to because it *will* lose firefights. Stay back, aim for the head and let the lingering damage do its dirty work. I freaking love popping someone in the head from a distance and watching them run for cover only to die anyway to the DoT, meanwhile I'm free to focus on someone else or hide or whatever. The only buff I'd like to see done to it is perhaps an increase to the reload speed as it takes ages to reload the freaking thing. The magazine size is fine (especially with the Last Round perk) and the rate of fire & recoil are manageble. Doesn't need an Impact boost either otherwise it'll be too strong in conjunction with the DoT.

  • I think the need for a buff is more PVE oriented. A 6 round mag and it takes longer to reload than a potroast takes to cook. That is a bad situation when a bunch of thralls or supplicants are headed right for you.

  • True, it's a weak gun for PvE but it's currently treading a thin line in Crucible. This is why I'd honestly rather have either separate gear with unique PvP stats, or for Bungie to code in different damage models for each mode - as in a gun will do X amount of damage in PvE and Y amount in PvP. That's more work for bungie but it's the best way to keep from having to nerf crap time and again.

  • Yeah, I agree. Two sets of stats, one for PVE and one for PVP would be nice.
