It is so frustrating to be in the top two slots of your team for multiple games in a row. And before you all run to my profile and point out that i'm not always top... I know i'm not. I have good runs and bad runs.
The point is when you bust your balls and get top slot in your team and MVP of the game it is absolutely soul destroying to see that the guy who got 1 kill and 17 deaths get THUNDERLORD whilst i'm rewarded with the same rare shotgun i received two games ago.
Then there's the getting over a 9.0 K/d spread in a game and getting diddly squat, only to have the guy that stood still for half the game then came out with a 0.07 (didn't even know it was possible to go that low) get two legendary weapon engrams.
I am not saying give the top guy all the cool stuff, but at least give him better stuff than the one who dragged the team down....

One time a guy at my team didn't move the whole game. Just because participation can get you an exotic. I think they should reward the top players. It's not that people with low KD can't get any better at pvp. We all start at the bottom right? To the people saying 'don't make the strong people stronger' : there are many other ways to get your exotics (xur, strikes, raids etc.). See it as a challenge to do better..
-
I pvp with friends, and because I like it, if someone of my team who scores a k/d 0.01 and it happened... Get legendary or exotic, I can just feel happy for him and LOL a lot with my friends in chat, but never complained about "Me and my friends are always the Mvp but we get nothing" - every event in destiny is RNG based, everyone knows about it :/ don't complain! Just play!
-
Lol if you are running solo then don't worry about kd. Get that win. I have shitty teammates majority of the time. But we never get slaughtered. Why? Because its all about the score. Go check my stats and you will see.
-
The point is to compete and enjoy winning. Do you need a cookie every time you do something well?
-
I've found that losing a few between runs actually gets you better drops. Picket up two legendaries and a Exo bounty
-
I thought the point of winning the "pvp" is the same reason anyone ever wants to win against others in a multiplayer situation. Bragging rights and KDR thumping.
-
I got the Plan C exotic when I went 32-10 in Clash. Random is random.

I play it because I love -blam!- scrubs.
-
I only play Crucible for the Marks. It's useless to me any other way. I'm trying to not sound arrogant, but I absolutely dominate in Crucible. When I actually try, I wipe my opponents out. I stopped trying when I got 1st place in FFA four games in a row and watched the lowest 2-3 players get gear while I got jack.

Edited by boff: 10/27/2014 1:33:21 PMhaha, i feel your pain, ive had sessions where ive been top 2 for a few games and lost them all, then finished 4th or 5th and win.....it drives me crazy at times. Winning isnt enough when you have had a poor game, but losing is the worst thing ever when you have had a good game. ohh wait, i read your topic wrong, haha, yeah the rng sucks....
-
The point is to just have fun.
-
Noobs need good guns to get better :) Just kidding. It frustrates me too. Only once have I seen the top player get an exotic, and it was just lame Truth. Again I think Bungie's reasoning is to keep less skilled players from leaving, so they can possibly get better gear to be able to perform better. Basically they don't want "the rich to get richer".
-
You want rewards? Play some Tiger Strikes and nightfall/heroic.

No. /thread

Doesn't bother me to be honest I mostly pvp for rep, exp and engrams. I have been first and last many times each and know sometimes it just isn't your day, face laggers or really skilled teams. I usually apply that mentality when someone gets a bad score and gets a prize. It's not as bad as people say either, it's just because the last player getting a good item is more memorable than if 1st-5th got one. And finally, what happens on the day you happen to play a crap game and walk away with an exotic? Do you take to the forums and complain? Dismantle the item out of principal? No, you get excited and celebrate, the guilty feeling fleeting in the face of your luck. (and sometimes even a little smirk of guilty pleasure you would never rub in)

Seems nasty to do it this way, main reason why I just mainly play strike missions

Edited by Turferpop: 10/27/2014 11:19:17 AMI did a poor game once and got Hawkmoon. People were pissed.
-
I feelya man not being rewarded for doing well is just one of the many problems in this game.
-
Tbh I have not seen one good drop from pvp coming top or bottom I always get shit
-
Nope, not at all, unless you've got Crucible Bounties.
-
wins give grimoire points, that's it.
-
I don't try to win so that I'm awarded good loot. I just play as well as I can because I enjoy this game. Playing just to earn loot is missing the point, in my eyes.
-
What Bungie should do is reward all 6 players every match. Top 3 have a chance to get legendary and exotic drops. Bottom 3 have no chance at either of those but all other rewards are possible. Something like that.
-
I actually spent the last few days of Iron Banner sitting in random places or dancing. The best part was when my team was getting owned the enemy team would run up to me and sit with me or dance with me.
-
In most games I am in the bottom 3 and most times I get nothing useful. I sometimes go a few matches in a row getting nothing at all.
