Just a few thoughts on the comments here.
We play games like this to feel powerful, to conquer, and feel skilled and special. That's what the gaming industry gets and that's what they deliver. OP Guns reflect that feeling of power for the player and a bit of jealousy for the victim. Celebrate them, fight outside of it's effective range, get your own, learn and adapt.
Complaining that a weapon is OP is a way of saying
"I want to kill like that weapon, but I don't want to use it cuz I'm mad that someone did it before me"
or
"I'm obviously the most killed player with the best build, in the world, and that guy shouldn't be able to kill me. Nerf everything"
Guardians need to conquer evil with powerful weapons, so Buff the weak, don't Nerf the powerful.
You think its bad now? Wait till the Iron Bannor changes are implemented and my OP gun turns into a 2 shot kill...
The "Simple" ideas are meant to be a way to keep the EXISTING content interesting for players, while Bungie waits to release the already finished content that they are polishing. Destiny is nearly finished in its entirety, story is done, new guns are done, other planets are done, lot of the new raid maps already exist on your game disk. Some genius over there realized that their writer had created a ridiculously massive game people had pre-paid for without knowing what they were getting, so they chopped it down to re-polish it and release it later for more money. Brilliant!
