No. Seriously, I think beta testers just play video games for developers so that they can get a feel for what the general public response will be and make improvements before launch.

  • But..games have regularly been made available to the general public..for free...in their beta stage. It just doesn't seem very special to me, I guess. Gimme some pre-alpha/milestone testing, plz.

  • I think some beta tester peeps are actually employed and have to give formal feedback ... Maybe he is one of those ... or maybe he is just crazy. Who knows! I'd love to see the first testings and the process of game development.

  • I was a game tester myself for a year at EA games. Got to work on ME2, Madden 10, and NCAAF 10, among some others. Just giving this as a point of reference. So I am sorta familiar with that side of things. Never heard of people brought in and being paid to test a game once it hit its Beta stage. Typically at that point. Typically betas are open/closed, but to the general public. There are far too many people that will gladly do that stuff for free.
