I don't believe in console wars...it's stupid. We are all gamers. I don't mind a timed exclusive but I think a year is just crazy. By the time xbone gets this stuff, who will even care anymore? I'm a ps4 user and enjoy playing with the Monte Carlo. I'd rather the whole community could get it so we could all enjoy it.
These exclusives, imo, do more harm to a game than it helps on side of the console division.

That's if Bungie keeps supporting Destiny beyond the two announced "expansions". Because I have a hard time believing that Bungie can support destiny longer than a few months solely on DLC. Most likely, the game will no longer be relevant by that time that content start being re-released on the xbox. As a Xbox player, buying DLC for this game just became a lot harder to justify. I am just not okay with this kind of bullshit.

well if they plan on supporting the game for years to come then there is going to be more than just 2 DLC. They are going to add more story, more planets etc etc.

Yes it's not fair to one side or the other, and some will argue that ms has done the same. What they won't tell you is that some players thought that was wrong too! I'm an xbot, I didn't think about going Sony because I like the Xbox controller, some of the exclusives and I didn't care about the hardware. I've had more good experiences than bad with ms. However if the tables were turned and ms had the YEAR LONG exclusive dlc I would still be up in arms. Win the "console wars" with exclusive titles, performance, price and customer service (imo the most important, also includes listening to your fan base). If people pay for a game or dlc give it to everyone. -blam!- this bullshit. Edit: typos

I do understand your point of view. And it does suck... but I have to still say this: On contrary. Exclusives and console war is good for the all of the consoles. You know why? Competition. Remember last year when Microsoft was about to make the console "always online" and all those other "bad" decissions? Well Sony was there to offer a different package. So Microsoft saw that if they would stay the course, they would lose the customers. So they had to change things. Same thing happened in the PS3 and Xbox360 era, Sony was the one who did it that time thou. Point is, we need this rivaly and competition. WE PLAYERS don't have to be on eachothers troaths, that's for sure. But we need to make sure Microsoft and Sony are watching over eachothers. Same thing about exclusives. They are the ones that people look at the most when they buy the console. They want certain games, and certain consoles have these. They drive the market. If there was no exclusives, people would just go for ONE console and just forget the other one. And then the competition would die off... and the one that's left could charge what they want, could do what they please. In the larger scheme of things, exclusives is something we need.

Besides you'll get the maps next year IF people still play the game then. Still, I can sympathize, but for me it's not so bad as having whole game cut off. Like it's with the new Tomb Raider tittle. :) Besides, this has happened before with Call of Duty games and such.

You are talking about a war between the actual consoles, there is a difference between that and a war over games. There is a reason there are multiple consoles, and that is simply because they are made differently, they have different hardware and software, that is a good kind of competition, it helps to keep prices lower and make consoles better. The taking of content from one another (specifically in games they already share), is a different area, it is a form of competition that doesn't add to their console, it simply takes away from the other. Its like political add campaigns, there are the type of adds that say what they can do for you, then there are the adds that just say what the other guy isn't doing, except in this case you are actually taking away from the other person, not just saying what they wont do. Video game makers themselves should allow for exclusives (it is their decision after all) but they fall into the trap of being offered money, and therefore take away from their consumers, which is pretty sad since you would hope their main concern would be for those who play their game.

In the end the hardware doesn't mean much, just the games. That's why the games are important and that's why there are exclusives. And because they take away from the other console, some people might figure out that it's better to buy the version that has more stuff in it. So it does work. This is part of the "console war", games are part of it. Huge part too.

I dont have as much of a problem with exclusive games, and I understand that games sell consoles. But i dont like the idea of only giving one group a reduced experience when both pay the same amount, especially for a year, if the content was only delayed a month that would be ok, but a year is pushing it.
