Did Activision stop Bungie from making the game they wanted to make? Or is it all Bungies fault and Bungies fault alone? Or is it the writer who left leaving us with a lame story?

I would wager that it was moreso Activision than Bungie. Granted we all know that Bungie knew what they were getting into, given Activision's franchises have been falling off considerably, while trying to push out worthless DLC (imo at least). (Note: falling off quality-wise, financially I'm sure they're doing fine) Really though, it's been the gaming industry as a whole- learning from CoD's success, despite its reskinned games year in and year out. What they've learned is that they can invest less into a Game's development, release complete trash, and we the consumer continue to gobble it up like its great. In that sense, its our own fault for being so easily preyed upon. Complacent with the repetition, ignoring the lack of ingenuity that used to be the heart of game development. In that regard, i had hopes for Destiny. Hopes that it would be the last game I'd ever need to purchase. Alas, such was not the case. Worse yet, Bungie is relying on DLC to complete the game. It's over-hyped trash like this that is causing the consumer to lose faith entirely. The beckoning of DLC are just further slaps to the consumers face. Of course, there are those of you who are utterly complacent, so used to the other garbage titles you've played that Destiny seems like its great. You're welcome to feel that way, but, if you can honestly say that Destiny has lived up to the hype, well... you must not have been following too closely.
