So we get 1 strike 1 raid, 3 story missions and 3 multiplayer maps. That was cut from the game and we are paying $20.00 more for this? This was already finished prior to launch, the way you treat your community, your loyal fans is disgusting. This should of already been included in the game.
Bump if you agree.

But nightfall is just the same missions with modifiers. The game needs much more substance to it. I played alpha and beta to the max so much I dont want to lvl my other characters up to lvl 20+. They said the game opens up at lvl 20 but really it closes down. Ive had the same chest piece since lvl 20. Put it on lvled it up and went straight to lvl 22. Im now lvl 27 and coulx be lvl 29 but dont want to waste my shards on the armor ive had since day 3. I was expecting too much. Should have realized this was going to be a small game judging by their appearance at PAX. Pathetic.

It's just a grind. It' work and less play for some. I just got my Titan to 27 and I now have a full set of armor with one Exotic (helmet) from Xur) which is one way for you. You could do all the bounties you could (focus on at least Vanguard 100 points), do the weekly and strike list and daily stuff and soon you should get enough drops along with Strange Coins. I need to Rank 3 (I am 2) to get a legendary weapon.. Once there - I have the coins for Xur. That will make me at least armed for VOG enough to be a good team member. You could do the same Bal. It just takes some time and for guys like me that work full time - it is a grind for sure. I will take about 2 more weeks to rank up and then I should be able to VOG more often and with some success. I hope you do as well and soon Bal. Keep it up and you will. You are right about Nightfall by the way. But because of the new territory and strike - we should get a new Nightfall at some point.
-
I do hope we get a new nightfall. I also have an exotic armor(sunsinger arms) & all legendary gear, but thats not the issue. Its the same gear since I hit 20. I haven't gotten anything purple since the loot cave days. I was lucky to get all good legendary gear at lvl 20 but everything I get now is blue or green.
-
I missed that cave so I have to buy my gear.

Lol ur unlucky m8

Why does everyone assume this was "cut from the game"?
-
Seriously what are you talking about?
-
Because some people found a glitch over a month ago where they could look at every location in the game including the missions, strikes, and raids from Dark Below and House of Wolves. All of the missions were on the disc with names, descriptions, difficulties, and level requirements already attached to them.
-
So what? Why wouldn't they pre-load unfinished stuff on the disc and shorten download times down the road for DLC? That doesn't mean it was a finished part of launch and just "locked away". I bet there are tons of weapons and armor pieces, shaders and NPCs and such tucked away on the disc that were "finished" but not part of events or areas that are finished. It's called smart project management... they can still modify the items/areas/missions later with a patch if needed, but they ship as much as they can fit on the disc up front so you have fewer multi-GB patches down the road since, despite how it appears, lots of gamers still have crappy internet connections.
-
"pre-load unfinished stuff on the disc" Unfinished content doesn't have areas completely blocked off in the game for it along with names, descriptions, level requirements, etc. "I bet there are tons of weapons and armor pieces, shaders and NPCs and such tucked away on the disc that were "finished" but not part of events or areas that are finished." Actually, that is called cheating the consumer out of something they have already paid for. If I was running a fast food restaurant and you ordered a meal for $7 but I only game you the burger and said the fries would be extra would you still be this happy about it? " they can still modify the items/areas/missions later with a patch if needed, but they ship as much as they can fit on the disc up front so you have fewer multi-GB patches down the road since, despite how it appears, lots of gamers still have crappy internet connections." They don't care if gamers have bad internet. Remember the "deal with it" guy? If these places cared companies like Microsoft wouldn't have day one patches for games like Halo MCC that amounts to over 20 GB instead of just making a second disc.
-
are you really naive enough to think that an 8 hour story, 5 strike missions, and 1 raid was all that they had time to put into the game at launch with the multi-year developement? yea lotsa stuff gone got cut to make money
-
They didn't even have the raid available at launch either! The raid is what proves they aren't above locking away content that is on the disc because they decided when to make it available and they have said it will be removed later on!
-
Funny thing is that on my second play through i went through the story in just under 3 hours lol
-
No, but we're talking about Bungie rather than Activision - Bungie has never been a money-grubbing company like Activision is and has been. And while you may absolutely be correct, I think it's ridiculous to just jump to that conclusion. Besides, entertainment value-wise, I'll take it. I paid $60 for a game that has already given my wife and I hours and hours and hours of entertainment. Or for $60 we can go see a 2-hour long movie and have some popcorn. *shrug* Frankly, I think people are overly critical these days about content. I'll take GOOD content over LOTS of content any day.
-
That's a logical way of looking at it Xerpherys. I too have had over 100 hours of fun with this game for the first 60 bucks and I am sure the next (15 - I pre bought it) will give me a bunch more. The only reason I complain at all is that I believe Deej and others read this stuff sometimes and see our opinions and I would like to hope that it counts. Maybe it doesn't but what the heck?
-
We're talking about games; Not movies. I don't even want to try and imagine how much time I would get out of Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn (an MMO that wasn't stripped to it's bare bones) for just the $40 disc and $13/mo subscription. Not to mention that Square Enix listened to fans and completely shut down the game to redo the whole thing with fan input and the result was a bigger and better update. They are also constantly updating it to add more content for free. Other games that do this? WoW, Diablo, and many others. Good content is always, well, good. However, when you are paying $60+ then the problem is whether it is good and lengthy; Not just good. A game also needs a good story and characters.
-
Your idea of good content and the majority of people's ideas of good content are clearly not the same. If you enjoy the same recycled content that is only entertaining for the first few hours then so be it. Most people want and or need more to keep them occupied after games like world of warcraft and the like. Also they promised more yet have not delivered jack shit. One would think that to really hook people you would want to blow their minds with every aspect of the game yet mission after mission its nothing but the same lame things, mainly defending dinklebot. Their servers are over all terrible. The game is riddled with bugs that they have made no effort to fix and now they will be bring ing out a $20.00 dollar dlc pack that is worth barely 5 dollars worth of content. And all those hours you talk about playing? For most people it is spent trying so damn hard just to get one or two pieces of gear to hit 30, hours played with literally almost no rewards equals boredom and just pisses people off and frustrates them. How is that something that is supposed to hook people on this franchise for 10 years?
-
You are clearly an ignoramus. They've made no effort to fix bugs? Oh, except for weekly patches. The game isn't entertaining after a few hours? Clearly it's just not YOUR kind of game. It's pretty obvious that many of us are still playing almost daily weeks and weeks after the game's release. Just because YOU don't like it doesn't mean it's bad. There are plenty of games and movies that I don't care for that plenty of people do. Stop being an entitled brat.
-
Let's be gentlemen about this Xepherys. You have good ideas and a good outlook otherwise. I too see it as good value. On the other hand, I can feel valic69's pain because I too think that what was advertised may not match the game we got. But with patches (Xepherys is correct on this) we get not only fixes on things like being bumped off but we can get better game material too. We just need to be patient and not expect to beat the game overnight. I don't want to beat it quickly. I want years of entertainment. For some - it is boring - for me it is fun - most of the time, lol. When I play with friends - I always find it fun. When I play alone - I sometimes feel the problems of the game instead of focusing on all the fun. Maybe valic69 is playing this mostly solo. That would be an explanation for his angst. Let us all be kind to each other and play together with fun in mind. Note to all: One way of seeing the DLC is that where the content was there to begin with is where they had to have it done before hand so they could release it in time for the holiday season. Had to had to do it from scratch - it probably would have been a few months later not to mention that the cost to them might be much more. Ask yourselves if you would rather have the game maker survive to continue to support the game or for them to give us everything at once and go out of business? I would rather they survive and am willing to pay the DLC price (I don't have to until the 3rd) because I think it is a fair price as long as the new content is great which I am not sure of yet as I haven't seen it.

Here is a bug. Atheon would send two or four people through the time stream. Did they fix it? No! There are constant disconnects because of Bungie. Did they fix that? No! There are many other bugs, too. Ahhhh, the butthurt fanboy bitches ultimate response! "Stop being an entitled brat." I see a discussion and no one being an "entitled brat."

Bungie screwed is and didn't give us all the game we wanted. QQ Destiny is fun for an hour then it sucks - we want free DLC. QQ Yeah, lots of discussion...

No one wants free DLC. We want the content that was on the disc we payed for. That includes this.
