Honestly I'm not a huge fan of a year long exclusive only because it kinda does screw the Xbox player. I have no problem with exclusives, and if it were the same model that COD does I wouldn't complain. Hell if it were a 2 month difference I wouldn't complain. Problem for us Xbox players is that the game is going to be a year old by the time we see this content. Most of us will have moved on to other games out of sheer boredom. Weekly events are great for keeping the game fresh but if any are like they have been... Ya nope. I really think its just bad business practice on bungie's part. It really alienates the Xbox community. DLC is supposed to keep people around and make experiences feel fresh and new but after a year Xbox players won't really care anymore. The game will be so played out Xbox players will be far less like to buy it in after a year of waiting.
