LOL, you have too much faith in a fairly common business model. Can I live in your fantasy world? If the content didn't mesh well, that's due to either bad story telling, or bad design in general. And about WoW, thing about that is it came as a COMPLETE game, and the expansions packs added HUNDREDS of hours of gameplay, and were spanned about 6 months to a year apart and usually costs $20-$30. Let's look at Destiny by comparison: 3 months after release A whopping two strikes (for PS users). A WHOLE raid. A few story missions that will have Dinklebot scan something while you defend from 3 waves of enemies and repeat. And a few list of weapons and gear, that will look and perform the same, with a different color scheme. All for the low price of $20. 1/3 of the cost of the game. Not exactly equal there buddy.
