I bought the Guardian Edition for xbone, not knowing the distain you have for Microsoft now. I had no idea how much content was missing from my version, but when I found out I was pissed off (this game is already woefully short on content).
But hey, I figured, it would be fine once DLC started coming out.
Nope. DLC is exclusive and minimal. Wow, a whole raid and a whole strike? I can't even play your last raid because of the lack of matchmaking.
The exclusivity though - you mean you've charged me, a loyal fan of your previous work going all the way back to Marathon the same but given me less, not just once but three times!?
Message received. Well played Activision/Bungie, you took my money and gave me something disappointing and inferior. You guys suck.
I'm off to play something else. Something fun.

You don't need matchmaking - you have this forum, idiot. I've had to fill parties out at least 3 times for the raid - takes about 2 minutes.
-
So I point out functionality missing from the game and your defence is that you can replicate it outside of the game? You're missing my point.
-
Wow.. You sound like a real douche.
-
Waaaah!
-
Nobody cares. Goodbye. Please be sincere and don't return. Thanks.
-
Sorry, it wasn't clear. I was trying to get through to Bungie, not you. I really don't care whether you care or not, but I suspect you're right: Bungie don't give a shit about their long time fans.

Agreed, I feel really let down. Massive promise great mechanics but just so shallow on the content front. What did by for spend the last 4 years doing??
-
I think they spent 3 years working on something epic (as in massive), realised that it needed to ship, fired the guy with the vision, and cobbled together something they could release in a year from what was done so far. So, amazing solid gameplay, 4 stunning environments, and hints of a story that's been mostly axed. I was interested to see if they could bring that in after release, but now I know I won't see it because the xbone version is only part of the game. They should have been a Sony exclusive or not done the deal at all.
-
Damn straight.
-
Playing with match-made idiots would frustrate you more than not having the function at all.
-
Playing with single-use online-only friends I just spent 50 minutes finding on forums sucks too, but more so because of the effort and time I wasted finding them. Seriously, if your multiplayer game does not contain the social features and functionality required to beat the content in that game, then your game fecking sucks. Trawling forums is fecking boring. I'm bored of doing it, and bored of fanboys telling me to do it every time anyone calls Bungie out for this broken part of the game. Don't tell me that I need to put effort and faith into a game to get the most out of it when a fecking third of the content isn't even available on my platform. This shit has to be both ways.

Edited by DeafFB0: 10/30/2014 2:30:27 PMIt's the most challenging, team effort requiring activity in the game. It's not supposed to be like a tiger strike. But, I do agree that the game needs more social features. Proximity chat is a must.

Yes, I get that, though the strikes are particularly unimaginative bullet sponge bosses. Team work required? Fine. Why can't a team be match-made. What, exactly, can I do to vet randoms on forums that the game couldn't do if they'd built it right? I've commented on the lack of matchmaking before - it's killing this game and I don't believe for a second that Destiny still has their claimed 3 million active players. I don't know anyone IRL who's still playing (anecdotal, I know) but with the MMC, Sunset Overdrive and the annual BF/CoD/FIFA franchises I think this sorry excuse for DLC won't keep anyone. I'm on to Microsoft support to see if I can get a refund for this crap.

I personally like Destiny because I love killing aliens with guns I've found throughout my playtime. Unlike most players, i love crucible and PvE content, so I'm excited for the new maps and raid coming soon. It gets repetitive, I know, but there is something about it that always brings me back the next day.
