The story isn't cohesive. We didn't need to hear it from beginning to end. Actually, a cliffhanger would've been awesome. But it's patchy at best. The only way any form of this story makes sense is from reading the forums and players trying to make sense of what painfully little there actually is. And no one knows what any of it really means.
Every mission is hoard mode. Push button, prance around the area for x amount of mobs. It was just lazy programming. The game is okay considering the smoothness and snappy feel of the gunplay. But is just horrendous when it come to 'what is this universe about' and rewarding the player when he completes an objective.
Sure, data on the disk doesn't mean we were robbed. But given what was said about 'becoming legend' and 'having a story to tell' about your armor and weaponry boiled down to how many times you redid whatever missions until something dropped. Not a single player could say, with authority, that I FINALLY completed this one mission and got the gear I wanted. It's all -blam!-ing random. Read the posts about how there are people who've completed the raid 10-20 times and not gotten a single raid gear drop. It's horrendous how this game turned out for the end game. It's the reason you can't go anywhere in the forums without seeing endless rants and people crying WTF

Yeah but how does that have anything to do with the fact that the content wasn't cut and this isn't a massive conspiracy to everybody like they all wish it was? It's ridiculous to think they cut out an entire raid! It's obvious destiny tries to build off of the way dark souls' stories are told, and they just did a crappy job. Doesn't change the fact that a locked area doesn't mean "cut content" clearly these people don't know how a game is built
