Gamers today are so demanding it hurts. When i was young in the 90s-2004 we had alot of fun with games that had SOOOO little content. Zelda, bomberman, mario, sonic, golden eye, halo ce, wolfenstein, duke nukem and many more..... I payed 60$ for destiny, and i have played 4 d and 18 hours. If i go out to drink on a Saturday i use 200$ for 5 hours of fun.
The multiplayer in destiny is awesome, and pve is decent as well. Leveling is even more fun than in GW2 and WOW. With more raids and shit is even as good as wow. When i think back to the wow days, i remember nothing but grinding and doing the same fights over and over. Usually the latest raid.. So why are people upset? Because these greedy bastards expect much more then available. The games you list you look forward to has nothing more to offer themselves.. But anyway go have fun.

You claim to be a gamer just like the rest of the destiny a$$ kissers. Then you make the first mistake... pvp is good and pve is alright well buddy this game is pve.. pvp has ruined this game entirely.. I was planning on making this the main game I spend most of my time playing but it's turned into the main game I'll keep on a shelf. People are not mad cause of some small 20$ dlc. I'd say most people are mad about paying 60$ for a demo...

Tsss. I never expected this to be anything more than a shooter with a different type of campaign. From what i got from bungie in the years before release, and when they quickly stopped the MMORPG rumors, multiple times! I knew exactly what was coming. But go on, go play that awesome game that has it all.. the game that keep players playing for years.. Oh wait, it dont exist. There is only grind out there for you. LOL, COD, strategy games, FPS.. You either grind loot or rank.. You must go back in time to enjoy a game, the reason for it? You played whats available! no demands no nothing, or you were a gullible child playing Zelda..

I was a final fantasy gamer, diablo it could take days to write the list.. so long story short... When did they squash the mmorpg rumors.. it's been a known fact that that's what it is supposed to be if that's the case I plea false advertisement and I will get my money back.. every one is aloud their own opinion unfortunately for you your the minority..if you post grasp like this you'll see a lot of protests to your opinion. If this game was meant to be a fps then I'm out I'm done with this shit game.

Wait whut? The legend of Zelda: OoT little content? Wait ... Whut? No seriously, wait whut? In the first two years of OoT I played over 500 hours and still I hadn't found every single collectible in the game. The DD expansion made that universe even bigger. What the hell are you even saying? Sure Destiny has more content in terms of character customizability but it's nowhere near OoT in terms of replayability and shear fun replaying the storyline. That's the real benchmark to me. The only flaw it has is that this benchmark is very subjective so I can see why you have another experience. But seriously, that comparison made me shiver in my Hyrule pants.

I was waiting for a comment like that. I played Zelda for years, same with golden eye. If destiny was out back then with shit graphics and no multiplayer we would still play the hell out of it.
-
Good point but back then this game wouldn't be able to hold a candle to either of those. But we're really comparing two totally different franchises from two extremely different gaming ages. Let's be honest. 2015 is light years ahead of 1995. So we can't just compare 'em rationally right? Damn, getting old real fast all of a sudden...

Yea i am a terrible debater, a somewhat old one also. I admit that destiny lacks things i am used to in both FPS games and RPG games, but to flat out say destiny is a terrible game i feel unfair to bungie. I love the crucible, simple things can be done here to make it great. More gameplay modes, and a ranking system. The raid was awesome. I agreed with bungie at first with the matchmaking thing, but i was wrong. They need one asap. Merchants, crafting and trading needs to be put in the game. Hubs on each planet would also be good, with each unique reason to be there. It has potential, but i still feel its a good game. Compared to all the games i have played in my life, nostalgia is not valid. We were not so demanding back then, doing useless stuff for hours was fine.
-
Agreed 100%. Bad debater you say? :p

Edited by Dustin1208: 10/30/2014 12:24:41 PMBut it's ok that Bungie lied right? Cause that's the real message you're sending by supporting this game. They lie about what the game is and advertise to appeal to all when really it's designed to force you to grind. Never will I ever make the mistake of pre-ordering something with Bungie's name on it again. They pulled off a multi-million dollar bait and switch with Destiny. In fact I might never buy from them again, a trend that seems to be catching on due to their treatment of fans.

Hey buddy if youre happy with it good on ya. Thats the reason I made this post like a break up. After a break up your ex girlfriend will always find some sucker at the bar to take home and string along for a few more months and he will think he hit the jack pot.
-
Seems like you value sex with a girl a little to much if you refer to men looking for easy sex as suckers who gets played. But i guess you need to think like that to hold on to your idea that you are just a little better then the rest. This games offers a lot, its a fps with a little on the side. The fps experience in destiny is on par with halo 2, the thing halo 3- reach and halo 4 just could not do.
-
Do I value sex??? Does the pope shit in woods? (yes, the answer to that question is yes). I would argue every man values sex to some degree, some more than others. Also just throwing this out there but you defending destiny's "honor" is kinda helping out the ol' ex girlfriend new boy friend metaphor.
-
I am not defending destiny`s honor. I have played many games, especially the halo franchise. I love FPS games, and destiny is a damn good one. I played wow the first couple of years, it was a good MMO. But what did we really do in WOW other then complain? We played through the game until we reached max level, took a long time. Guess what, the story was not told during quests. Of course you can read it, but who has the time. Still had fun playing the same shit over and over. You just had to high expectations for the game. You play through campaigns one time in other fps games, in COD not at all.. what are those games? Yea they just have the crucible.
-
Btw those other multi-player games you are talking about have been working on multilayer to perfect it. While Destiny's multi-player is really just a side note. We expected Destiny to be more like a rpg and not a fps shoot-em up. Most people believed in the story and great pve elements and they did not expect pvp to be focused on.
-
Alright enough joking around. Yes destiny has an amazing fps mechanic...but that doesnt make a good fps. From what I am getting from you, is that you are a grinder (due to the wow) so this is your cup of tea I get that. As far as the crucible goes its a joke. No if ands or buts about it, and this is coming from a guy who played the brakes off some fps multiplayer going all the way back to doom land parties. Now to your point about growin up in the 90's and gamers today, games and gamers evolve and new standards are made and bungie fell short this go round. I just work to hard for my money to pretend I didnt waste it on destiny. If you feel different good on ya, but from all the people I have talked to the number of people ready to drop destiny is growing fast.
-
I think a lot of people give destiny to much negative criticism. Show me a game that came out the last 5 years that is a all around amazing game, kept people playing for more than a year and lacks nothing of what was promised. I have not seen one, all i hear is whining from a audience with demands that cannot be met. Grinding is not so fun, but i will do it if the end game is good. And the crucible is a very good FPS experience, need a ranking system but that`s it. I have played all decent fps games since the early 90, on PC and console. Nostalgia is good and all, but it always lies. The only thing that has changed is the demands of players, you had none back then. You just played and had a great time.
-
Either way dude you keep playing if you like I wont tell you how to spend your time or money. I myself have better things to do, and im just ready to move on
-
Off the top of my head skyrim.
-
Noted. Skyrim was good, but it had 7 months of playtime.. and bang its not interesting anymore, bought first expansion played 10 mins logged of.. got boring. So that is subjective.
-
Alright man sounds good
