the stuff he sells is RNG as well. and there are plenty of "filthy casuals" that don't have the time or resources to do raid or even nightfall. without Xur, they would be punished into having lesser gear because of factors that are out of their control (family commitments etc.) in what universe is that fair? getting rid of Xur would reduce server numbers, not increase the number of people going into try hard mode.
