Even as an American I understand where you're coming from. At one point the $ was worth more and we felt the same sentiment you're expressing. It smells somewhat of bullshyte but I could see the marketing teams (or accounting teams, if they are just ignoring conversion rates) of all game companies (not just bungie as this seems standard practice) saying they want one single numerical # to make international marketing easier/less cumbersome. Still that's bullcrap, just playing devils advocate to see the practice from another side...
