To the people complaining about the DLC, updates, and bungie in general, let's take a moment to exercise some common sense. DLC? YES, a good portion of the future DLC is already in the game and is technically accessable by glitching out of the maps. However, if you were to actually do this, you would find that the areas are far from perfectly complete. They are very buggy and contain a whole lot of problems. Sure, Bungie included these places before launch, but have you ever considered that they did it to make it easier down the road for themselves, rather than just to rob you of money? Furthermore, charging for DLC is not a new concept. Nearly every successful game does this. Call of Duty has been doing it for years and NO ONE complains! The only difference is that CoD doesn't put the maps in the game before, because its not a free roam world! So where would they put them?? But that doesn't stop them from charging you every penny they can get for each new map pack. CONTRACTUAL RIGHTS Upset that you are on Xbox and have to wait a year for stuff that Play Station already has? Well get used to it because there is a contract in place (just like how Xbox had rights to Halo) that says Playstation has the rights! At least it's just a year and not FORVER like halo was. 10 YEAR PLAN If Destiny truly has a 10 year plan for expansions, do you actually believe that they can keep paying their employees for 10 years off of the 60$ we spent to buy the game? No! They would run out of money in no time. Just like any on running massive multiplayer online game, they need to charge a little bit of money in order to keep themselves functioning! To everyone that feels the need to point out that the 10 year plan in fact involves several new titles and additions to the legacy, bear in mind that regardless of how the 10 year plan is carried out, it requires money. This game is Bungie's baby. They want to make it the best game they have ever made. Give them time, be patient, and enjoy the future releases. UPDATES People are constantly asking for updates for the game. I am sure bungie is listening to you, but what do you want them to do? Reply to 10,000 comments a day saying, "we read your comment and the idea is in consideration"? Do you have any idea how long it takes for developers to consider an idea, bring it before the board, plan the idea, beta test the idea, execute the idea, and finish the -blam!-ing idea? It takes a long -blam!-ing time! They plan on working on this game for 10 years. So expect many, many, many updates during that time. But they can only be done so fast. Developers aren't god. They can't build the world in seven days. So get used to it, or quit the game. If you are patient enough to stick around, expect some pretty cool content coming in the near/far future. TIME Let's consider one final thing. The majority of the players that have run out of things to do in Destiny have played 150+ hours. This game has been out for less than two months. The reason it is out of content is because we have literally OVERPLAYED it. Speaking from personal experience, I have played nearly 300 hours because this game is amazing. I highly doubt the developers of the game were ready for that. If you are worried about content running out, maybe slow down a little bit. Even at my 300 hours, I am still having fun. But that's just me. However, there are very few games that are capable from ripping me away from the real world. __________________________________________________________________ Stop being such entitled little bitches and either just quit the game or accept that the world isn't free and takes time to make perfect. _____________________________________________________________________ TL;DR (too long; didn't read) - It is not free to continue producing content for a game - A 10 year plan requires a 10 year budget - The DLC "already in the game" is not finished. If you glitch out to it, you will see it needs considerable work before being ready for play. - Bungie is contractually bound to release certain content on PSN only (for a year), it's not an option. Thats how contracts work. - Updates take a considerable amount of time, and if Bungie wants this game to last 10 years, they need 10 years of updates. Be patient. - If you are out of content already it may be time to go outside, or maybe call one of those friends you forgot you had.
Well when you think about it, Microsoft has more money than they will probably ever need. But thats no reason for them to start handing out copies of Office for free. The world runs on money, and whether we like it or not, we are part of the world. If the DLC was free, I would love it. But I very seldom get handed free things, so I am not too worried about buying it. I can spend 20$ for one night downtown that I won't even remember. I would happily spend 20$ for another 100 hours of gameplay that I will love every minute of.
• Maybe. I'm assuming for xbox players they will release all of the dlc we didn't get as another dlc which we will also have to pay for it....

 • Agreed, for the most part. My only qualm is that Destiny is far from having lots of content. It took me longer to beat the story for Duke Nukem Forever (I know, terrible game) than it did for Destiny. The only reason people have logged so many hours is because you can't access some of the content until lvl 20. Run thru all of the story missions post lvl 20, you can burn thru the story ultra fast. My only problems are how empty and thrown together the story is, along with how major bugs are being ignored. Otherwise, I love the game.

 • Contractual rights to games? Cry me a -blam!-ing river. We used to have rights to Mass Effect.... Sony kids whined and complained about it and eventually got them to remake the games and release them on sony consoles. Expending resources to build and remaster the game for Playstation, time and effort that could have been used on refining the game for loyal xbox users that were told mass effect was "only of Xbox." Why don't xbox users get Last of Us? Looks like a great game but it'll probably never make it to xbox.

 • Gaming industry should have no prejudice. We only want to play games with good content. Thus why Halo and Destiny - Bungie. Giving PS4 a boost in DLC by denying Xbox owners an equal standing. Bungie you guys are now officially an asshole.

 • How many Xbox One games have released so far that PS4 will never see due to contracts? I can think of 3 off the top of my head; Titanfall, Forza, and the Rome thing. Where is your outrage over this? Are you not upset that those developers choose to keep their game content exclusive to Xbox?

 • I kinda am actually. I own a 360 and a One and I have been a Xbox Live member for close to 5 years. I AM upset that there are even exclusives in the first place. Games should not be for one group but not another. It's stupid how companies do that. In the business side, if they had them on both, they company gets more money. On the gamer side, everyone could play a good game and not have to but a whole new console for one game. I would love for Titanfall, Ryse son of Rome, and Foriza to be on PS. They are great games that I wish I could share with you PS players

 • Exactly my point! Your statement about the bad business decision exclusive stuff is period is my stance and the point I was trying to make. If I ever owned a game studio, and with the career path my son and some of his friends are taking this might actually be a possibility in a few years, exclusive will not be in a contract.

 • Yes I do. If Sony or Microsoft does these things, I don't care. They are always at it. Problem is a gaming company should not be tied down in this sort of shit. If u want to think on machine gaming. We can all play Titanfall on pc

 • No we all can't play TF on PC. I wish that everyone could, but it and some of the other newer releases require upgrades a lot can't afford, and console game as well. I know that is mine, and a lot of other people's choice, but financially it is the way it has to be for a lot of us. A console is good for at least 3-5 years without needing hardware upgrades currently. Most PCs are insufficient to run many new releases within 12 months of upgrades. In this economy its sad to say, and I am one of these gamers, its cheaper to own both major systems and buy the game that offers the best value.

 • Question for Op Mr. L337 game designer sir Why does destiny's multiplayer have less options, and less maps than halo Combat Evolved which was launched over a decade ago and couldn't even connect to the Internet? Why have mmos been able to easily deliver more than enough content within the first few months of launch as compared to destiny? Why is there content illustrated in ViDocs a year old that looks complete in every conceivable way yet isn't in the game today? Like entire planets? Why did Halo deliver as advertised or better yet this game has remained incapable of doing so months after launch? Why does the only raid available today contain more glitches now than it ever has yet remain incapable of preventing players from knocking Aetheon off? Why was the game advertised and presented in a fashion that is entirely different before signing with Activision? Oh and uhh why release a game now when it can have potential to be really good months later, instead of you know... Releasing the game months later!? Oh yeah and why does it remain ok for people to complain about "conplainers" but complaining about the game is wrong, childish and too self entitled? Additionally it's pretty easy to stay off the forums so as to not be so bothered by the complaining. It's probably easier to do that than to return the game. But heck of a post man. Syntax and diction remained solid throughout. Well structured and a very considerate and even necessary TL;DR.

 • Thank you for this. This won't make people stop bitching but for the time they are reading it, it makes them realize that they are probably wrong and that is worth it! I am upset that bungie did admit that the game was incomplete, granted they were rushed by Activation. They brought this to the attention of gamers looking for an excuse to complain and they ate it up! They should have either kept that quiet or possibly provide a little free content at some point. Great post tho

Destiny may not be a full MMO game, but it is most certainty lacking the fundamental stuff from MMO. Everybody hate doing the same stuff over and over, but in other MMO, they have a reason to do it. A long term goal! A desire to become the best they can be and show off their hard work. Destiny do not offer such feelings or accomplishment. A lot of us playing Destiny for PvE, not PvP. We need a sense of purpose in this game for this cruel grinding.

 • 1. You are too rational for the internet! 2. You make too much sense for these Forums! These whiners know this stuff; yet still feel the need to bitterly complain about everything - nerfs, buffs, DLC, story - and do so with such an angry tone. Looking forward to DLC and further updates down the road. Still having fun and haven't even maxed out all three classes or all six sub-classes!
