To the people complaining about the DLC, updates, and bungie in general, let's take a moment to exercise some common sense. DLC? YES, a good portion of the future DLC is already in the game and is technically accessable by glitching out of the maps. However, if you were to actually do this, you would find that the areas are far from perfectly complete. They are very buggy and contain a whole lot of problems. Sure, Bungie included these places before launch, but have you ever considered that they did it to make it easier down the road for themselves, rather than just to rob you of money? Furthermore, charging for DLC is not a new concept. Nearly every successful game does this. Call of Duty has been doing it for years and NO ONE complains! The only difference is that CoD doesn't put the maps in the game before, because its not a free roam world! So where would they put them?? But that doesn't stop them from charging you every penny they can get for each new map pack. CONTRACTUAL RIGHTS Upset that you are on Xbox and have to wait a year for stuff that Play Station already has? Well get used to it because there is a contract in place (just like how Xbox had rights to Halo) that says Playstation has the rights! At least it's just a year and not FORVER like halo was. 10 YEAR PLAN If Destiny truly has a 10 year plan for expansions, do you actually believe that they can keep paying their employees for 10 years off of the 60$ we spent to buy the game? No! They would run out of money in no time. Just like any on running massive multiplayer online game, they need to charge a little bit of money in order to keep themselves functioning! To everyone that feels the need to point out that the 10 year plan in fact involves several new titles and additions to the legacy, bear in mind that regardless of how the 10 year plan is carried out, it requires money. This game is Bungie's baby. They want to make it the best game they have ever made. Give them time, be patient, and enjoy the future releases. UPDATES People are constantly asking for updates for the game. I am sure bungie is listening to you, but what do you want them to do? Reply to 10,000 comments a day saying, "we read your comment and the idea is in consideration"? Do you have any idea how long it takes for developers to consider an idea, bring it before the board, plan the idea, beta test the idea, execute the idea, and finish the -blam!-ing idea? It takes a long -blam!-ing time! They plan on working on this game for 10 years. So expect many, many, many updates during that time. But they can only be done so fast. Developers aren't god. They can't build the world in seven days. So get used to it, or quit the game. If you are patient enough to stick around, expect some pretty cool content coming in the near/far future. TIME Let's consider one final thing. The majority of the players that have run out of things to do in Destiny have played 150+ hours. This game has been out for less than two months. The reason it is out of content is because we have literally OVERPLAYED it. Speaking from personal experience, I have played nearly 300 hours because this game is amazing. I highly doubt the developers of the game were ready for that. If you are worried about content running out, maybe slow down a little bit. Even at my 300 hours, I am still having fun. But that's just me. However, there are very few games that are capable from ripping me away from the real world. __________________________________________________________________ Stop being such entitled little bitches and either just quit the game or accept that the world isn't free and takes time to make perfect. _____________________________________________________________________ TL;DR (too long; didn't read) - It is not free to continue producing content for a game - A 10 year plan requires a 10 year budget - The DLC "already in the game" is not finished. If you glitch out to it, you will see it needs considerable work before being ready for play. - Bungie is contractually bound to release certain content on PSN only (for a year), it's not an option. Thats how contracts work. - Updates take a considerable amount of time, and if Bungie wants this game to last 10 years, they need 10 years of updates. Be patient. - If you are out of content already it may be time to go outside, or maybe call one of those friends you forgot you had.
Well when you think about it, Microsoft has more money than they will probably ever need. But thats no reason for them to start handing out copies of Office for free. The world runs on money, and whether we like it or not, we are part of the world. If the DLC was free, I would love it. But I very seldom get handed free things, so I am not too worried about buying it. I can spend 20$ for one night downtown that I won't even remember. I would happily spend 20$ for another 100 hours of gameplay that I will love every minute of.
• Getting what I want? I actually love this game. You're just blind like the rest of the bungie clan who doesn't know when they are getting bent over. So strictly on a price point, wouldn't you expect at least 1/3 extra from a $20 dlc on a $60 game? Just think about it.

 • Comparing the amount of DLC you normally get from Activision for 15$ in your average CoD game, we are scoring the motherload.

 • You're right on that one. Just tired of getting the middle finger after buying a game cause they know they have u. I'll buy it yes because if there is one way they know they will get you it will be from your friends who bought it and need someone to play it with. (Aka call of duty)

 • So why did you even bitch? Get over it. Like op said, I could go spend 20 bucks on a pizza tonight and not even get leftovers. Or spend 20 bucks on a game I already enjoy, just to enjoy it more. That's not bad.

 • OK that analogy had to of been the worst analogy I have ever heard. You are comparing perishable food to a video game lol. And what do you mean why am I complaining? Has anyone on this game played an RPG before? Among other things, how can this be called an expansion with only a 2 level increase? I'm not going to re explain cause clearly you read my first sentence and nothing else....

 • Let's talk about the many practical uses of money then Between 1 and 8 light bulbs > Around 20 bucks. 8 coffees > Around 20 bucks. Most posters, just large pieces of paper > Around 20 bucks. Renting 3 movies > Around 20 bucks. Paying my gas from home, work and back> Around 20 bucks. The average t shirt > Anywhere between 10 and 50 bucks There are shittier alternative purchases. 20 bucks isn't bad. Ask your mom for your allowance and get a job... I pay 200 a month so I can enable myself to get to work. You're bitching about not getting to waste more time being unproductive. Entitled little -blam!-s like you should leave, and If you did already stop -blam!-ing posting here. Make up your mind for yourself. No one cares if you're disappointed.

 • Eventually the level cap will be 40..then 50.. You'll get your moneys worth. They're also respecting the people who will buy the dlc, and those who won't. Level 32 will be hard to reach anyway.

 • Lol funny part is how you defend it and don't even state what you like about the upcoming dlc and why it is worth 20 dollars. I say why it isn't and you break it down without any actual reasons as to why it is worth what it is. That's what blows my mind about everyone on here. Have fun defending your baby fan boy. Keep up the good work letting corporations -blam!- us because u can't get over your nostalgia.

 • Wish I could dislike replies. I could understand everything, as long as there was more content. You can't call a couple things that you do everyday all day (grind) hundreds of hours of content.

 • All of what you said is sensible, or at least all that I read. However I do think that there is legitimate cause to be disappointed with the lack of variation in destiny. The game is really nicely put together; the gunplay is great, I like the classes, it's quite eerie at times too. But after getting so much right it's obvious that they rushed the last stage and the content is simply too repetitive. I cannot see this being solved by them releasing one more strike - I will still have to play the other ones, which are already driving me a bit mad. Now I have played quite a lot of this game, I'm nearly level 28, but once I have done the raid the game is essentially completed. There are many things that would have provided replay value - like horde mode etc, in fact anything that has a random element to it would be good, but the only thing that does surprise you by level 20 odd is Atheon's teleport. I've played a bit of crucible but I'm not finding it very interesting to be honest. Loading times are too long and there's not much variation. I have got my money's worth with this game, no question, but I didn't expect it to get old so quickly and it seems unlikely that some dlc every few months will change the fact that it is a bit one dimensional.

 • To you, Atheist Sermon, a response from my viewpoint. I refrained from attempting to put any cursing, so I hope you read this in the manor I chose to type this: a detailed, educated, and opinion based response. Hopefully this makes more friendly and productive argument than a raging one. DLC I know the point of DLC, it is to get people who buy the used versions of the games something that they don't already have at the start. This gives the developer more money, but a huge problem with this is that it is punishing people who bought the New versions of the game. Nobody will ever be pleased at developers for making DLC until they give a gift to the people who buy the game New, or mark down the price of the New games. This of course is not exclusive to Destiny, it is more of a Game Industry problem in general. Contractual Rights In truth I don't know why people are mad at this. Well, I do, I just don't know why people don't step back and realize what they are barking at. It is true, this gave them more money to their outstanding budget, but it was a good way to broaden their horizons, moving from Xbox to Playstation. The only thing Bungie hasn't made a deal with is Nintendo and their consoles. So far this has been Bungie's history. They made game for Mac then gave PC a deal which moved them forward. During this time though they made their Mac gamers unhappy, very similar to how right now they are making their Xbox gamers unhappy. This is Bungie, and I am glad to see them making new connections. 10 Year Plan Forgive me for chuckling at this section of your response to the community, but I think a reminder of 500 million dollars is in store here. That is 50 million dollars per year in spending, that is more than most games alone. This is of course also connected to 10 years of it being released to the public, but it had a very long development period as well. With such a long development, it is shameful that they released such a meager game. We will talk about this later in time though. Do you know how much money Destiny made also in 24-hours? 500 million, just the same as their budget. So in 24 hours they have paid for their development cost, by all means they can make DLC free and nobody would lose money, unfortunately they are choosing to make a massive profit on this. Starting on the day after Destiny's launch, anything they make is profit. This is outrageous, and even with this in mind they are going to have us pay for essential parts of the game for 20 dollars a piece. I don't see that as a good thing as far as a gamer. Updates It is unreasonable to think that Bungie will get to the forum posts, but they have moderators and fans helping them with this, and only read the feedback area really. Any other area is just flame wars and such, feedback is exactly what is sounds like. I don't even think this is worth a response, you are right in this regard. Time I also found this area funny, because I personally haven't played the game that much but have experienced everything. I use a Warlock mainly, but have used all classes to their fullest potential. I have not even hit the 100 hour mark with this game, in fact I would say I am around 50 hours or less. From my experience, it get's dull fast. This is coming from an RPG veteran, I grew up on grindy games and some of my favorites have been games I have needed to grind to complete an awesome boss or something of the sort. That's the thing though...I'm not grinding in Destiny to beat an awesome boss, I am grinding to get this weapon or armor piece to the proper potential is possesses. I have been able to beat strikes alone, heroic strikes even, on the highest difficulties with gear that makes me barely level 27. If you have done the max level heroic, it is level 28, so it should've been hard to me. Nope, got through it pretty easily. I have my Hunter at level 12 and my Titan at level 14, but my time has been focused on my Warlock. I'd say 38 hours alone was on my Warlock, and 12 or less was between my Hunter and Titan classes. This game doesn't have as much as you think it does, because I've even been through the Raid and I am kind of done with it. So I do think your Overplayed concept is more for you and a set amount of others, because I know alot of people who've still only played one character.

 • Dude the game came out like two months ago. I'm all for paying to extend playing value but damn already?! and for very little content? The game should have enough content to keep us occupied longer than that. How much will you spend on this game if they try this crap every few months for 10 years

 • Your statement would pack a lot more punch if punctuated properly. And I'm no grammar police, but it reads all jumbled together and the point is missed if read too quickly. (But only because you didn't punctuate).

 • I agree with everything you said. It was very well said. People don't realize it takes time and there are many of us. And only one of deej. One bungie. And you can't please everyone. Some people want this to be geared more casually, others more hardcore, others PvP others pve and so on and so forth. In this case, majority rules I suppose when it comes to what bungie decides to fix? However, I don't agree with your slow down idea. I love destiny and don't want to slow down lol. I wanted more content. But I'm one of those that wanted this to be more for the hardcore players. I honestly expected this to be Destiny with FFXIV combined. It's very vague and hard to explain but for instance I expected a soft level cap of 50, and more of everything right out of the gate. I understand this is probably bungies first go at MMO style gameplay but I suppose I expected more content right away. If Bungie took a page out of real MMOs like FFXIV, FFXI or Even guild wars 2 this game would have been revolutionary. Because the FPS side of this game is awesome. I love the PVP, and the gameplay style. It really brings you into it but I'm ranting and whining I suppose. And I'm enjoying the game nonetheless. It doesn't consume all my.time as I'm also playing FFXIV lol. But I love destiny and know I'm gonna love the expansions and am gonna keep playing the game. TL;DR: Thanks for saying what's on my mind and being logical with your post. I don't wanna slow down play I g desti t (but I have lol)

 • I am. But this game does have those elements in it. In fact, online shooters these days all have those RPG elements in it. Including Destiny. And I feel like it couldve done better in that sense. But you're right, I did muddle the two. Point still stands and is still valid

 • I don't know why people are yelling at Bungie for unfinished areas when it was Activision that rushed Bungie into releasing the game sooner then what was wanted. If Activision gave Bungie more time then the dlc wouldn't even be an issue, stop blaming Bungie and blame Activision.
