No it isn't, however it isn't just a fps either. Nor is it a mmo. It is a fps-rpg because it is a hybrid of both. So just comparing it to just Cod is like comparing apples to oranges. The closest thing you could compare it to would be ID soft's rage which came with a much more involved story. But that game fell flat on the PvP side.
