Something to think aboutm Rasputin repeatedly refers to the darkness as IT. Two possibilities either he is just trying to emphasize that he doesn't know what to call IT or IT is an anagram.

Well that's a good theory. That got me thinking and I red the Rasputin Grimoire again. It says that Rasputin met IT for the first time at the gate of the garden. Now we all know that the gate of the Black Garden is on Mars and if you watch Destiny's first intro again, you can see that the traveler made contact for the first time on Mars!!

hmmm. that a different approach. Thats very interesting..i will now look at all the clues from two perspectives. I cant shake the possibility that the black garden is inside the traveler. Which what if the hive was an invading force...The Black heart and the traveler are two different entities and so on...

WAIT. We (the guardians) were sent to kill the heart of the black garden which may be corrupting it in some way.. Maybe in an attempt to awaken the traveler!

Around that idea. Yea. It could go a couple ways but yes.

I have two things to say to that. 1) the original concept art for the black garden made it look like it was inside of a sphere and 2) Rasputin mentions hurting IT with aurora knives, in the ghost fragment the traveler in the "Dreams of Alpha Lupi" he talks about the knives that injured "you"(bot sure who he is referring too) and that they injured more than "your" body, possibly injured a spirit? A soul? An aura? Which, when looked at in certain light could be much like an aurora
