COD, Far Cry 4, and AC unity are all coming out very soon...something tells me this game is going to be collecting dust on a lot of people's shelves...

  • In fairness, the same thing happened with the latest Halo each time a new COD was released. Bungie survived those instances.

But Halo was a bit more popular and well liked than Destiny...Destiny is getting a lot more hate already than Halo ever did, IMO unless bungie makes some serious content changes a lot of people are going to move on to other games

  • Halo also relied on only one platform whereas Bunie placed Destiny on four platforms. So, they have definitely hedged their bets.

Yes but all 4 platforms have games going to be released on them, ac rogue coming out on last gen, far cry on last gen and next gen, ac unity is on next gen, and cod is coming out on both gens...I just feel like this game is going to be blown out of the water

  • With record breaking sales, Bungie only needs to hold on to about 25% of players from each console to retain top tier participation numbers.

  • Record breaking sales but how many people have returned the game already...

  • Returned? None given the average Elections Return policies at most stores. I understand what you are getting at, and I too have wondered how saturated the market is with people seeking to unload their copies of Destiny. Surprisingly, despite all of the bluster, the market saturation is statistically negligible. The average going rate for a used copy is ~$45. So clearly there is still considerable demand and relatively low supply. How many people have shelved Destiny thus far; based on purely empirical data, less than 20%.

  • Personally I enjoy the game, I'm just wondering whats going to happen with all these new games coming out, it seems a lot of people are frustrated with the newest updates and content and people may decide to put down the game...just a thought

  • People will put it down for a while, just as they did with the various Halo releases. However, it will not be everyone all at once. People will wander off and return, just as they do with any other game. I understand, and acknowledge, there are many people whom are butthurt over one thing or another. Truth be told, I am not super stoked about the upcoming Dark Below expansion pack. However, true Bungie fans remember how long it took to "get it right" with the Halo franchise. Halo was not released all at once but in several installments which took years to be released. The PvP experience didn't even hit its true peak until after CE Anniversary was released - that was five releases and a decade after the original CE dropped. Yeah, it will take some time, and sales revenues, for Bungie to convince Activision that Bungie knows what they're doing. However, that doesn't mean it will be crap until then. There are so, so many questions left to be answered about the Destiny storyline, it would be foolhardy for any real Bungie fan to walk away now - and true fans know it.

  • Agreed, I may take a break for a bit from destiny for a bit simply to try out some other games but I'm not going anywhere, I've just kind of grown bored with the game as of now, ill wait till the next dlc to probably pick it up again
