I will not be buying the dlc myself. I'm not telling anyone else not to buy it, but I am saying that we as gamers need to consider what the industry is becoming.
I've been gaming for over 20 years, beginning with an SNES and Sega Genesis. Most of my friends have too and our favorite games, the ones we consider truly great, came out before this recent shift occurred. Games like Halo, Knights of the Old Republic, Ocarina of time, the first Assassin's Creed and many more. Games that can't compare to the graphics and mechanics available today and yet were amazing. They were great because the companies that made them wanted to make a great game. That was the priority. But with the enormous growth of the gaming industry the huge companies putting out games now care more about profit margins, marketing hype and dlcs.
I thought and hoped that Bungie, who brought us halo, was one of the few who still strove to create amazing games. To push the boundaries of what we expect. Maybe it's not them but activision that is the problem. Maybe it's both. I don't know but it's clear that Bungie is not what they used to be.
