I heard that the ten year plan is going to include sequels... Every 2 years a new destiny game will emerge. I can't call this game close to an MMo if that is true. In my mind I don't think current players will ever find out the hole story of destiny unless they cough up another 60 for destiny 2,3,4,5. 10 years a new sequel every 2 years means 5 destiny games... I was hoping for more dlc throughout the 10 years but that sounds like wishful thinking now. What does everything know or think about this?

Actually, it would be six games. Destiny is the start of the ten year cycle so.... 8 years left = Destiny 2 6 years left = Destiny 3 4 years left = Destiny 4 2 years left = Destiny 5 0 years left = Destiny 6

That's what I thought too but the contract says only 4 games. According to the poster who originally said it, like I said, I don't know the whole deal I was just trying to spread his information
-
Four games would make it every 2.5 years. Not bad for a game series but horrible for a MMO. I hope it meant more like major expansion packs instead of actual sequels.

Someone else posted this and I can't remember who so I can't give him credit, but this info wasn't my own. So I'll put it in quotes. "According to the contract between bungie and activision, that is public due public record laws. A new game comes out every other year, with 4 DLCs each. So four games total, 60 dollars each equals 240 bucks for all the games, and 4 DLCs each for 20 bucks is 80 dollars. Each game then equals 140 bucks just to get to max level assuming they increase light level each DLC, multiply by 4 games and you'll spend 560 dollars to play the whole series in it's entirety over the 10 years."
-
Also add in the 50 dollars to get online for a year just to be able to play the game and the whole series will cost you about 1060 dollars over 10 years.
-
If this is all really true, then how about you compare it to $12-15/mo every month to play another MMORPG. $12 x 12mo x 10yr = $1,440. Sounds like Destiny should easily come in less than that if you're only interested in knowing how much you'd spend over the entire story. And I would still take Destiny in that argument since you'd be getting new games every other year AND DLC where most MMO's are just expansions.

You sir diinot take in to account the interest involved over the ten years
-
It's not all I'm interested in, I was just relaying another posters information
-
Well it would be impractical to release ten years worth of dlc and patches on top of one base game. We're better off with occasional sequels.
-
Neither have I and I sell games for a living. Besides how would that be much different then WoW doing.burning crusade, lich king and the such all the way up to the upcoming warlords expansion.
-
I haven't heard anything about hem releasing a new game every 2 years
-
This is Activision. Take a look at Tony hawks pro skater games, guitar hero games and call of duty games.they will rehash the same boring shit untill it's lying dead on the ground
-
Activision also owns blizzard... Have they made WoW 2 yet????
